you're right my mistake... that still puts them at +11, which is still pretty impressive

Athens must use this game to sure up their offense and sure up their defense before a stretch run that will make or break the season...

Athens plays VC Friday...
Then host Alexander in the 1st battle of possible unbeatens
before goin' into Wellston (which is never easy)
Then host NY in the 2nd battle of possible unbeatens
Finish up hosting Belpre before headin' for Wahama...

However, as much as I'd love to see Athens go (10-0) and on...

VINTON COUNTY is first on the list...you cannot go (10-0) without first going (5-0)...
Must take care of VC before anything else...You can glace ahead to the future, but never look past an opponent...

Ask the 2002 ('03 Grads) Galia Academy Blue Devils what happens when you over look an opponent...That year, they were the easy favorite in the Bulldogs/Blue Devils battle and got beat, at home by a hungry Athens team that had nothing but a small chance to make the play-offs...The Devils as a result had to share the League Title with Marietta...

NEVER OVER LOOK YOUR NEXT FOE...

Focus and 'Just Win Baby'...

The Vikings are decimated with injuries, have been all year. In my thirty plus years of watching high school football I have never seen such a black cloud that has hovered over this Viking team. Every time it seems we get someone back we lose two others to injury. No, buckeye master, we don't need a new coaching staff, they are the only ones with no injuries.

Hawkeye, what's the press box situation like over at VC? Will there be plenty of space or should I try to get there early to claim a spot?

That black cloud just got larger and blacker this evening; we have lost a senior starter due to an accident during the homecoming parade. My prayers go out to him, for a speedy recovery and to his family for the support.

Athens may very well lose to N-Y but don't get to cocky there in Buckeye land you still have Alex, Athens and, Ironton on the road in consecutive weeks.
