Chillicothe Cavaliers head coach search

I just hope the powers that be take their time and chose a head coach that will make a spalsh in the community....the football team needs the support from the community! I also wouldn't hire from within.....clean house!!!! Good luck to all the applicants. Go Cavs!!

WOW. That is some list. So much for everyone that said Chilli is not a job people would seek.

It sure is a tough decision whether to choose a State Championship coach, but one who may retire soon, (I don't know the man and he could very well coach untill he is 70 for all I know), or a younger coach who seems to have everything going for him with a history of turning teams around and winning consistently.

The list was obtained from the district, who had to release the names because they are public record. Coaches who apply know that. Everhart was listed as being at Kent State. Apparently, Hinton has grandkids in the district. He may be trying to set the table for them in the future, which may be the only real challenge left for a guy who has pretty much done in all in HS coaching.

The Chillicothe football job became a very attractive position when the Cavs went to the SEOAL! But the question about the list is how correct it is. I have had to laugh at some of the information on here as to how far off it has been sometimes.

This School Board and Administration will hire a fine coach. Regardless of the amount that applied, the cream will rise to the top. I support the Board and Superintendent Crago 110% in this selection process.

Applying and accepting are two diffrent things. Why would you trust the board and Crago. Look where they are because of their great leadership.

1. Board is elected by the voting public who lives in district 2. Board hires and fires all CHS employees including Mr Crago 3. Did you vote 4. If yes then they are doing the job you voted them in to do 5. if no, then you didn't care enough to place your choices in charge

No one says you have to trust them, but the law says the only people who can recommend and authorize the hiring are the superintendent and board respectively. If you have the ability to get Hinton (and time will tell if you do), you get him. It's worth it.
