Re: Portsmouth v Warrren at Warren
Big Dog's take is pretty accurate...offensively Warren has had good success passing and didn't have a turnover until last week.....defensively they are improved from last year, especially against the run...actually had Sharp contained (you can't shut him down) for much of the game last week but couldn't stop him in the final minutes to get the ball back one last time....hopefully Warren can get back to pre-Athens form and make this a competitive game versus the debacle last year...if Warren wins, I don't see it by much....have a safe trip...weather is going to be great football weather.....

Actually Leffingwell threw a Interception on the first play of the Maietta game, but came back and turned in a solid pgame. On the turnover side other that the INT's no other turnovers, Mays and Hastie are the go to guys on KO:s, Fivecoait on punt returns, Harlow has been use little in the backfield, but has been tearing it up on defense. If Warren can put together four quarters of football friday night it may be a long trip back down the river. Warren has had some, shall we say, slow moments each outing so far. Heard a fellow comment that "We just can't seem to stand prosparity" Hope we turn the corner, it should be exciting no matter what. guys have a safe tripup and hope we can offer some hospitally.

I'll be there friday night looks like it's going to be feeling like football weather with possible lows down into the 50s. Looking for Warren to bounce back from last weeks game against Athens.
Re: Portsmouth v Warrren at Warren
Trojans should win this one. Warren will not be able to stop the pass. If they can run the ball it will be a good game, if not the Trojans "should" run away with it. Last years secondary was very weak and the offense could not throw the ball well.

Re: Portsmouth v Warrren at Warren
Portsmouth doesn't seem to have much of running game and they have problems holding on to the ball. I can see a big Warren defense reeking havoc on the Trojan runners and forcing them to be one dimensional.
As much as I'd like to see the Trojans win since they are a Scioto county team and the Burg can use the computer points, I think if Warren shuts down the running game they will win this game. I think they only had 30 or 40 yards rushing against the Burg. If I remember correctly the 2 leading rushers only had 16 yards each.

That's funny....NO! The Warriors only get radio time if they play Marietta or Fort Frye. Warren Local is the only team in the league that doesn't have a hometown newspaper. Never much press coverage for WHS which hurts the kids with post season awards.Ptown Playmaker wrote:Is this game on the radio in Warren?
There is only 1 "caution" light in the whole school district. For those that don't know: Warren Local is made up of a bunch of small communities...nothing even remotely close to a city. Not even a McDonalds.
Good luck Coach Schob and his Warriors!

Once leffingwell gets warmed up after the first quarter this shouldn't be close. Warren by 2-3 scores.
