Re: region 23 playoff picture
Might want to add Gibson form Newark Catholic on that list.
Over 1,000 yards minus 1 full game and parts of a few others because of blowout scores.

Re: region 23 playoff picture
Those are guesses based on Drew's avg. I'm not a huge math guy. What we do know is River will be 1 with a win over a bad Frontier team. Newark C will be 2 with a win over Watkins. Even with a loss I think they host. Anyone know if Peake can pass Fort this week? Most teams on Cadets schedule play each other most likely getting 2nd level regardless. Bellaire looks to be in with a win vs Union Local or Martins Ferry. I'm not sure they can win either. Cardington Lincoln will be a border team if they can beat rival Fredericktown a team that knocked them out last year. A loss to East Knox could put Centerburg on the bubble but still ahead of Card Lincoln. Barnesville will need to beat Union Local to win. A loss in that game and Bellaire win in either it's last 2 will knock them out. Grandview can get in easily with a shocking upset over (9/0) Bexley.

Re: region 23 playoff picture
I do not think many teams in the region really wants to face Ready. The Silver Knights have a pretty easy game next week and they should be able to jump Cardington. I look for Newark Catholic to have to face them, if the Green Wave beat D-2 Watkins next week. I believe Newark Catholic has lost three in a row to the Silver Knights, maybe four.

How do we know how good Ready really is they have not beat a team with a winning record. I mean Dukes is a monster and they seem really fast but they are not big. Time will tell as a Cadet fan I want no part of them.
Re: region 23 playoff picture
I do not want to get into a battle of which teams are better than which. I have not seen Ready play but have heard Hartley coach say Ready is a good team and will make noise in the playoffs. Hartley has played Ready so I would put some weight on what the Hartley coach says. Also, the last 2 years Lucasville Valley had great teams and many mentioned it was southeast Ohio's chance to get to the D6 State Championship. Grandview Hts lost a tough game 2 years to Lucasville Valley and last year Grandview beat Lucasville Valley in the 2nd round. I saw both Lucasville Valley vs Grandview Hts game and Lucasville Valley was very good both years. Central Ohio teams do seem to have success when getting to playoffs in D6. I can not predict the future but think Ready and Newark Catholic will both be handfuls for anybody playing them. I am not saying that River, Fort Frye and Chesapeake are not good teams because they would not be in the playoff if they were not great teams. I think the Ready's and Newark Catholic's get exposed to teams with overall better speed and athleticism the first 10 weeks which helps when reaching the playoffs. All teams making the plays off are in the playoffs for a reason. No team should be taken lightly starting in week 11.

It's now or never for Fort Frye this group of Srs is making playoff appearance #3. 17 Srs and probably best Fort team since they expanded the playoffs.
2015 L Fredricktown 13-0
2013 L @ Lucasville Valley 52-14

Re: region 23 playoff picture
Fort Frye was a perennial loser before coach Huck. The fact they they have qualified for playoffs 4 out 5 years just shows how much coach has built this program.
Re: region 23 playoff picture
Bring them on. Bring them all on. I want a part of any of them. Everyone loses eventually and you can't duck the good teams forever. Someone will lose, and life will go on.EasternDspy wrote:LICKING COUNTY FAN wrote:I do not think many teams in the region really wants to face Ready. Newark Catholic and Ready play much, much better competition than we do in southeast Ohio. They are the teams to beat in this region
