How long has Logan had 3rd and 4th grade flag now? Don't know how I missed that,it used to be just 5th and 6th grade. There should be more tackle teams if the interest is there every year,I would have loved to play tackle early on,we would always get in trouble for playing at our grade school when the teacher wasn't looking.Logan 7th grade used to have enough players go out to form their own league and just play each other but unfortunately my 7th grade year was shut down due to the strike and my team was loaded with talent that year and most them guys didn't even play when they got older,I don't know if them Tomahawk teams now can even afford other teams paying for the equipment ect most of their funding is donations I think, maybe thats why we don't see it.If there are alot of players on the teams now maybe they could slpit them up and play each other like flag and 7th grade used to do that way more kids could get playing time....

I agree that IF Logan is gonna struggle it may be this year with a group of kids lacking experience and a new coach to call the shots, however I do remember seeing a number of Logan T-shirts around a few years back with the motto "we don't rebuild we reload" so I'm gonna go with they'll be good until the product on the field shows otherwise.

Have had it at least 8 years- My Junior played in 3rd grade. Flag had some big Fellas who didn't play T-Hawks.

I was impressed with the reserves in the 7 on 7 the other day, they seem to run around pretty good and had alot of ints. The incoming sophs had a good year last year only losing to Lancaster and Pick North, the incoming Frosh had a decent year last year with some really big boys on the line, the incoming 8th graders struggled mightly last year but maybe they'll improve.

I'm looking for a 7-3 year at worst and probably an 8-2 year with play-offs. SEOAL title is reasonable goal and doable. There are some good kids playing again and at a talent level that all in the league will find punishing. Too bad the tiggers ran as this would have been a classic year -- rebuilding Logan and a loaded ( as they would claim) tigger team. Still the same results. I look for a rough start ( losses to Lancaster & North) and then a run and a chance at some playoff success again. Don't think they can afford injuries this year, but will field a solid team of starters. Look for more reliance on a run game than last year and a QB urged to run rather than throw it up. D will be solid. Don't expect a strong SEOAL this year. Logan & Portsmouth, yes. The rest of the league -- not so much. ZHS should be competitive. Reynoldburg weak. Closer games, so kicking game is important this year.

As for the feeder programs. most coaches like to have participation but its not necessary to run Varsity plays. Sometimes O & D change as personnel strengths change. Perry's strength was good discipline. He had some very good talent. Wolfe is capable, so I expect Logan football to remain topnotch.

I'd say 7-3 maybe 6-4,,Reynoldsburg might be a little tougher than people think for Logan, they play tough competition and if Logan takes them lightly their in trouble but if Logan is fired up it should be good game.Plus the Burg doesn't have to pay as much this year to play which can only help,Their Freshman team was a beast last year. Will the players stay for them is the question but P-town should also be tough and everybody knows Lancaster and North will be Bears..Zanesville might be a sleeper now that they got a good coach....I look for Logan to be able to handle everybody else....

Can't wait to see the guys run through the "L" again but I'll miss quite a few numbers this year. Still, I'm hooked. Nothing better then a Logan home football game.

Logan starts a downhill spiral. Lower grades are average at best. The man that held it all together is gone. I wouldn't be surprised if the Chieftains go 5-5 this year.

145 yes, but he's taller then 5'6". i'm 5'7" and he's taller then me. maybe by an inch but for a 9th grader not bad size.

sorry, i don't see it. i don't think you know anything about the lower grades. 1 person/coach don't make a team good. the was talent very good last year at just about every postion.

Montgomery looks bigger this year! He seems too big to be a kicker.
