Re: Week 9 Wellston @ Athens
I've seen both teams play this year, and this will be a good matchup for two teams that will not quit.
I pick Wellston to win. Good luck to both teams, play hard, and have a great game.

Maybe the most accurate post ever made on this site. :122245boilermaker wrote:If Wellston scores more than Athens, we win the game!

Re: Week 9 Wellston @ Athens
Looks like a clear, cool night, just right for football. Senior night for the Athens Bulldogs, hopefully they can send a fine group of seniors out with a win in their last "home" game. I really wish this group were able to have the experience of a final home game at Basil Rutter Field but Peden Stadium is a fine fill in. Bulldogs win a close one.

I say both teams are equal as can be in this match up it will depend on witch team comes hungry for it and pulls off the big win.
Good luck to both teams and may you both stay injury free!

Re: Week 9 Wellston @ Athens
The turf is certainly complimentary to Sharpe and Dixon. I thought I was watching Oregon at their last "home" game. I don't look for Athens to score that fast and that often against Wellston, but I do look for them to put quit a few points on the board. Wild dog is a nice formation for the dogs to have in their arsenal and will sure be tough to stop with only a limited amount of time (and viewing) to prepare. It will be nice to see Harris under center for Senior Night(although Skinner has held his own the last two games). Maxson has proven to be a big target for the QBs at tight end and along with the line needs to make an impact tonight.
Defensively, Rider will make his presence felt, along with Schwarzel in the secondary. Skinner plays a nice defensive end when he’s not at QB, making for a solid pair of bookends with Germano anchoring down the other side.
I predict the Dogs by 2 scores.

This game was close for a half and then the athletisim of the Bulldogs took over in the second half and the Dogs were able to cruise to victory in easier than expected fashion.

Re: Week 9 Wellston @ Athens
I will say this for Wellston, they played hard until the end and even though the score isn't alot different from last season you could tell that the talent and effort of this squad was much improved over last year. Wellston has a fine team that suffered some close losses against some teams they were on par with this season and with a break here or there they could have won 6+ games this year. See ya in Wellston next year.
