Lets face it boilermaker Wellston season since the Jackson game has been a big disapointment and beating V.C. will not change that. V.C. has played hard all season and you can bet they will go out playing hard win or lose. Good luck Vikes

Wellston's season has NOT been a big disapointment. They had the hardest non-league schedule around. They have a new coaching staff teaching a new system, just like v.c. There has been a lot of good things come out of the Rockets' season so far. And I'm sure v.c. has played hard all season, but so has Wellston. And this game friday is nothing but a season ending rivaly game between two teams that are slowly getting their programs turned around with new coaching staffs. Good luck to both teams friday night with an injury free game. May the best team win. Rockets win this one for sure.

Whomever wins, I dont see any of your reasoning. At this point, VC has already won twice as many games as they did last year. My prediction for VCs future is that now you will see many more of the VC kids go out for football.
By the same token, I dont forsee Wellstons football program falling apart if they loose to VC. If anything, this will fire up the coaches to inspire these kids to dig down deep and play harder.

Good luck to both teams. Play hard, play safe and finish your seasons out with your heads held up knowing you gave it your all.

I have not had a chance to look at Vinton County but I know the coaching staff and know they have been working hard and its obivious they have shown improvement lately . In the games I did see Wellston play, they came after the team they were playing and hit hard. Their coaching staff always had the kids ready to play . They really did have one of the toughest schedules in the area. Jackson, Oak Hill, Gallia Academy, Minford , Alexander, Athens and Nelsonville thats seven pretty good football teams and still the Wellston kids have played tough week after week. The AD really needs to look at the scheduling and give them some breaks in there Their record is deceiving, it will not be an easy game for either team I would say this is going to be a hard fought and hard hitting rivalry game.

If you go by wins and losses, Wellston has played the toughest schedule in the TVC this year.

Team/opponents record

Wellston/55-26
Vinton Co/45-35
Athens/42-38
N-York/42-39
Meigs/38-43
Alexander/31-50

As far as the basketball you right this is football forum but... A wellston fan has messaged me all year saying that VC will not win a game and they suck and horrible they are....And wellston was gonna steam roll TVC ....My point was wellston has 3 wins VC 2 hardley a steam roll!!!..Not much diffrence... Flas-G You know how I feel about Wellston football . I thought after the way we played against Jackson we would run the table. I needed to stay realistic though. The Rockets do play the toughest schedule in the league and have fought hard through injuries and a short roster . It still is not what the coaches from Wellston want or expect. To say wellston is not headed in the right direction then you havnt watched Wellston the last three years(Black Jack).Wellston has a young team of Juniors and Soph's that will win alot of these close games that we lost this season. We need to get better upfront on both sides of the ball ,,and we will.

The Rockets will be ready friday!

The teams the Rockets have beat have combined record of 14-13, The teams VC has beat has combined record of 3-15, the more this week plays out the only close part about this I'm seeing is when they go in to the locker rooms at halftime ( they both use the same gate ). Any word on how Brad Miller is doing and if theirs any chance at all he'll be able to play?

Wellston may not have a good record, but every game we've played we have atleast been in... Oak hill, minford, NY, Alex,. All of those games we had a chance big chance to win, we just let them slip away. Wellston comes out and plays 4 Qtrs of football, blow out. If we come out playing conservative football, VC is in this... I just don't see it happening.....Go Rockets, end on a good note...

This will not be a blow out. If VC can finish drives, they will have a chance to win.

With all but one of the teams wellston lost too being in the playoffs as of today. I have to go with wellston to win this one. I just hope the play calling doesn't kill them like in alot of the games this year. Jump out on them throw early don't let them stack the box. Will we get the same extra time athens got or will we get a flag for delay after halftime?
