Oates was hurt before the Jackson game and did not play. He is questionable for Friday against Logan.

This will come down to special teams play along with TAKING CARE OF THE FOOTBALL, two problems Logan has had this year.
Logan has one of the best kickers in the SEOAL though. unless you mean there having problems on stopping the kickoff returns?

There is a lot more to special teams than 1 kicker. Logan has had multiple kicks blocked and have allowed multiple big returns. Not pointing fingers, but the special teams haven't been a strong point (not much has either.)

I really feel this was a transition year for Logan. New coach, lots of new players but a huge legacy from the last five years. Particularly, early on Logan tried to emulate the wide-open offense of the last two seasons and that didn't translate to the talent at hand. The defense suffered from lack of veteran leadership. Coaching changes probably contributed to some of the confusion early on, then the injuries hit. Next year, the staff will have a year under its belt, the players will have a better feel for their roles and perhaps the offense will revert to a run-first spread similar to what Logan did three years ago. I think the Chiefs rebound and are contenders again for the title.

Both of these team have kicker that can hit the long FG
A late fg by either team could take this game

From knowing Ron this is a special game for him because of the relationship he has with the Logan staff, more over the former head coach. He always wanted to play Logan when he was at Amanda but never got the chance so I know he is looking forward to the meeting. Go Cavs Finish the year strong!

IMO it depends on which CAVS team comes to play in Logan tomorrow night. If the team that won three straight and took Jackson to the limit on their senior night, Chilly by as much as they want. If the team that is just happy the season is over shows up then Logan will again embarrass the CAVS making for a long bus ride home and a long cold winter and miserable summer for CAVS fans. That's what happened last year at Logan, good Logan team against a group of boys just happy the season was over. Bring it one more time seniors or Logan will embarrass you!

I don't think either team is capable of "embarassing" the other.

These are two decidedly mediocre teams - all 10 of these teams 12 losses have come against playoff contenders (Lancaster, Pickerington North, Hamilton Township, Big Walnut, Jackson, Gallia Academy, Ironton, and Zanesville) and each has 1 bad loss (Reynoldsburg and Warren respectively).

Both have beaten teams they "should have" - I.E. Marietta, Portsmouth, Warren - and Chilli probably has the "best" win of the bunch by beating Gallia Academy.

Hopefully both teams play solid football games and feel good about the end of the season.

With the talent in both schools freshman classes, I think both of these programs will rebound in the next 1-2 years as the new staffs get comfortable.

I agree LoganLocos. I hope the other SEOAL schools enjoy their run at the top because I think you guys have a chance to be very very good in a couple of years. Cavs youngsters don't look too bad either!

Logan's glory days are over. With Dale gone, the pressure pot will begin whistle. You will all face the reality of this next year.

Thats what they said when the Conrads were graduating. Wishful thinking. Best be ready as there are more good classes headed on the way up.

You of all people should know there is a big difference between now and when the Conrads graduated. Just like this year when you thought a league championship was automatic. Let you in on a lil secret, its called coaching.....

Kelly Wolfe is a heck of a coach! He has ran the O at Logan the past few years and we all know how that went! Logan lost all there horse, it happens, they are going to spend a couple years getting the stable filled up then look out.
Dale was a great coach and his hard work and dedication to Logan football showed on the field. Go ahead and get it all out now cause Logan will be back and I will bet money no one will have anything to say about Coach Wolfe then.

GO CHIEFS!!!!!!

The question of coaching is somewhat laughable considering the Chiefs problems this year -- a very difficult non-league schedule to open the year with and then injuries to numerous two way starters when they needed all the experience they could get on the field after losing a ton of players from the year before. Even at that, there is a good shot at finishing third in the league and maybe as high as second. Pre-season , I had the league tabbed as weak and that was correct. Even with Logan down in talent, as I expected, they were still in the top half of the league and in position late in the Jackson game competing for a win. Logan went 0-4 in non-league and may finish 4-2 in league. Not much of a drop. For someone who thinks they are smart, BJ, you make the typical blunder of most SEO geniuses. Logan has good material annually but plays a difficult schedule and must stay healthy to compete, both non-league & in league. Their losses were to teams that are currently (D-I) 6-3,6-3,3-6, Zanesville ( D-II) 8-1, Jackson 8-1 and Gallia 7-2. Three are playoff teams. Thats a pretty good schedule to have lots of injuries against and expect them to play as last year's teams. Coaching? LOL ! Crawl back in your hole. Stick to something you know about....... which ain't football.

Blackjack, let me be clear! With a new head coach and the loss of a very talented group of kid's plus the fact the Chiefs have been hit hard by the injury bug, but if they win tonite the season will not be a total loss. Now this time next year if the Logan is not at least 7-2 then we can start asking questions about coaching. Just look what the second year coaches at Jackson and Gallia , both have done an outstanding job! This is what we will expect next year! Back to tonite's game, If Logan can stop the run, and that has been a major problem this year they will have a chance tonite. BUT!

Chillicothe 28
Logan 17

Let"s start to get ready for next year!

If you look at the 9th & 10th grades at BOTH Logan & Chillicothe, these two teams will be very good soon ....

Don't know what the out-come of the 9th grade game between Logan/Chillicothe but other than that Chillicothe is playing good football from the JVs on down to the 7th grade
