They played from 88-92 and twice in 1990. Also 04-05. Ironton has dominated the series. West's lone victory was a 14-0 win in the Tank in the season opener.

Week 1

Saturday double header!

3:00 Oak Hill Vs Wellston

7:00 VC Vs Jackson

@Alumni Stadium every year.

Gates and concessions split 4 ways.

This could be epic.

Maybe for some sort of jamboree or something but I don't see the gates for either of these games being that great. Oak Hill and Wellston can easily play at one another facilities and not fill that up and I don't think anyone would be jumping for joy to watch VC take on Jackson.

Really Alexander, Oak Hill and Piketon?? All the teams in the surrounding area and those 3 would be on your list. Heck why not toss Northwest on there. Common on man it's not about teams you think Portsmouth can beat. Throw out Waverly, used to play every year, Jackson, they had some good games for a short period of time, Portsmouth East (oops Sciotoville whatever they want called) someone should earn bragging rights. Nelsonville York.

Its about time we get Meigs vs Wahama going and make it a series every single year. The administration at Meigs needs to give up that tired excuse of Wahama broke a contract 20 years ago. This is a game that would be fun for our area.

Are you serious? I've seen Portsmouth and Jackson play several times in the last how ever many years due to Seoal play, why would I want to watch another Jackson victory? Same can be said for Waverly, played them 2 years in a row. I'd like to play some teams that haven't been scheduled in some time, you're an idiot for giving Portsmouth so much credit that they would automatically beat those teams. Portsmouth football isn't what it was buddy. Very good chance year in and out Oak Hill & Piketon could beat Portsmouth. Come on man!

Lets go to the tape! lol With todays technology, it took my 10 minutes to find all of the recent common opponents on joe eitels site.

Alexander, only 1 common opponent, I only went back to 2013, but this matchup was in 2016, but Alexander 3 Chesapeake 9, Portsmouth 18, Chesapeake 49.

Piketon, 2013 Piketon 0, Minford 58, Portsmouth 6, Minford 34. 2014, Waverly 34, Piketon 6, Waerly 27, Portsmouth 29. Piketon 40, Valley 63, Portsmouth 40, Valley 41. 2015 Piketon 8, Valley 35, Portsmouth 0, Valley 33. 2016 Piketon 35, Valley 7, Portsmouth 32, Valley 12.

Oak Hill, 2013 OH 16, Minford 30, Portsmouth 6, Minford 34. OH 14, Ironton 20, Portsmouth 33, Ironton 20. 2014, OH 7, Wheelersburg 54, Portsmouth 13, Wheelersburg 45. 2015, OH 6, Chesapeake 56, Portsmouth 18, Chesapeake 49. OH 0, Wheelersburg 48, Portsmouth 0, Wheelersburg 42. 2016, OH 14, Chesapeake 40, Portsmouth 13, Chesapeake 48. OH 0, Wheelersburg 42, Portsmouth 0, Wheelersburg 45.

One thing jumps out at me and that is I dont see a major difference between these scores that would indicate that any of these 3 teams would be major underdogs to Portsmouth.
