Week 1: Symmes Valley @ Southern

The pregame memorial was very classy. It was moving even for those of us from Symmes Valley. The family and your community continue to be in our prayers.
As far as the game goes, Southern's quarterback threw some dandy passes.

Symmes is a good team, and I felt in the beginning Southerns playcalling was horrible. Danny Ramthun played with a ton of emotion (QB) and he threw some really good passes to Ryan Taylor but it seemed like the coaches didn't have a game plan and they were picking plays at random until the middle of the 2nd Qtr. and then continued to do so late in the game. The line needs major work for the purple boys, with that said it was an all around okay game. Go Southern!

It always amazes me how on Saturday mornings I get on here and see the parenst blame the coaches for a play not working. Didn't the coaches call the passing players to the Taylor boy and didnt the line block to make that happen? Do you think that maybe the coaches scouted Symmes and they felt the plays the called would work? Or do you think maybe the coachses were calling plays to see how the defense would react? Thus the reason the calls did work is called adjustments lol. Hmmm...or maybe your a dad who thinks he knows everything and wishes he was making the calls! In any event, how about you cheer for the kids and get off the coaches backs since all this does is create negativitiy and doubt. From what I saw Cucumber, was a bunch of young men playing their guts out and a community coming together after losing a fine young man. NOt to metion they are a much improved team from last year!

What I think is funny is your Raiders have won about two games in the last ten years and you want to try and belittle another school.

A team can rebound in the 2nd half ya know. So, if SV did send in the "reserves", hats off to them for not rubbing it in our faces. More class than some of our competition. If that be the case.

Has River Valley ever beat Southern in basketball or baseball? I know I'm not old enough to remember if they did. Now who is the slow one?

Was River Valley even a school when Kent Wolfe played? Didn't he graduate in the early 80"s? Didn't RV come in the 90"s? When was the last time RV beat Southern in a sport is the question? I think you are the slow one or else you just like talking about what a great athlete you were even though you are the only one who remembers that. lol

I can remember River Valley beating Southern in basketball probably in the 06-07 season at River Valley. The coach for Southern at the time was Stevens if that narrows it down much (i know he wasnt there but a couple years)
