Caldwell also lost by 3 to a team that was beating FF by 31 in the 3rd quarter when they brought the jv in. That has about as much bearing on the game as what you said. That being said, if FF tackles well and limits the big gains they win.EasternDspy wrote:Caldwell just lost to a team at home that FF was beating 40-0 in 4th qt when they brought in JV.

at this point, i think we can rule out the scores of all the other games. we all know ff can score. I don't see caldwell's D stopping ff. the only question we have is who will bring it more? Caldwell's offense or FF's defense? whoever wins in the trench wins the game IMO
Re: PVC: Fort Frye 5-2(3-1) @ Caldwell 1-6 (0-4) Week 8
also nice to see people talking about this game. seems like nobody has talked about the PVC at all this year. all we get are final scores of games

Except your talking about a game 6 weeks ago instead of the last two weeks so......riverpilot33 wrote:Caldwell also lost by 3 to a team that was beating FF by 31 in the 3rd quarter when they brought the jv in. And Eastern's bringing up Caldwell's week 2 game against Trail.J8fusl wrote:Except your talking about a game 6 weeks ago instead of the last two weeks so......riverpilot33 wrote:Caldwell also lost by 3 to a team that was beating FF by 31 in the 3rd quarter when they brought the jv in. Comparing scores and all that doesn't really mean a thing. They play the game for a reason. To me, this game has a legit chance of going either way. It just depends on which team wants it more. It will be Caldwell's size vs. FF's speed. We'll see which one works better friday night.

It comes down to Caldwells running backs vs FF Lbs...This game is going to Cadets probably like 35-12.FF is the only offense in the league that has shown they can move the ball in the air and on the ground.Say Caldwell would of beat Frontier maybe I would lean this game to be closer but FF is just so much better then Frontier. You say that Caldwell played Monroe and River close...Well the Monroe team I saw is not that good...Why dident Caldwells massive line dominate the Noles?Fort Frye has 2 many weapons.

Re: PVC: Fort Frye 5-2(3-1) @ Caldwell 1-6 (0-4) Week 8
Like others have said, the fact that this game is even being debated about just goes to show how down the league is this year. Caldwell is 1-6, yet they've had legit chances to beat some of the better teams they've played this year, just haven't quite got over the hump. Yes, FF has beat the teams they're supposed to and even beat MC. But like you said, MC isn't even close to the teams they've fielded in the past. I'm sure FF fans love seeing the team perform well, but let's keep it all in perspective. Eastern, what do you really think FF's chances would be if they happen to make the playoffs? Because honestly, I would almost hope they don't sneak in their at like the 8th spot. The league is down enough, and I'd hate to see what a team like Garaway would do to a team from the PVC.

When was the last time a PVC team won a playoff game? I like seeing that because FF may be the best team, the league is the worst in the state.

Well of course They want to make the playoffs Regardless of if The league is down. That's what you play 4 right? Thanks for the negativity of the day Jake from State Farm
Re: PVC: Fort Frye 5-2(3-1) @ Caldwell 1-6 (0-4) Week 8
The PVC is what it has always been. It's just that Monroe Central has fallen off this year.
Re: PVC: Fort Frye 5-2(3-1) @ Caldwell 1-6 (0-4) Week 8
Yep, PVC has really fallen hard this season, but let's face it, MC lost its star RB Curtis Nixon to a ACL knee injury in pre-season drills, River has underachieved and the Pilots' line is by far slow as molasses, Shenandoah and Trail have new coaches because the old ones knew when to bail. Frontier has shown improvement from previous years, and Fort Frye is the class of the league right now. I'm sure Cadets would like to start season over with the way they are playing.efarns wrote:The PVC is what it has always been. It's just that Monroe Central has fallen off this year.
Just don't add teams to the league. The road trips are bad enough.

Yes the league is terrible but not worst in the state but it is the worst I've ever seen the PVC.That being said FF has came a long way since Huck came int.Yea I get upset when he coaches to now get blown out instead of win but he has done great with the program. Non Coach Huck...Muillin 02 (w-8) 03 (0-10) Zollar 04(2-8) 05(2-8). Bidwell 06(2-8) 07(1-9) ...Huck 08(2-8) 09(6-4) 10(7-3) 11 (5-5) 12(5-2) That's great improvement

Possibly so, I read his stuff too. Wonder what his screen name is on SEOPS? He's from Wood County - the braggin' capital of WV.

Well yeah of course teams want to make the playoffs, but I also want them to do well while there. It's very disheartening to watch your team get demolished in the playoffs. I've seen it first hand against the likes of Newark catholic and fredericktown. Not a good feeling after those games. Without question, Huck has improved the FF program a lot, but I'd still say its behind a lot of other programs in the area. Give them a few more years, and they could be a top team in the PVC quite regularly.

I would rather make the playoffs and get beat 100-0 then not make it...1.Its a top goal for any team any year. 2.Its great for the community 3.They haven't been since 00 and have only been 1 time in school history 4.Its helps your program and gets new kids interested in the program....So I don't understand your point of it being a bad thing at all...Was Caldwell not excited to go to playoffs every yr they made it???Even if your not a top team in the region the point system rewarded you with playoffs.BTW unless FF beats Rosecrans they are not touching playoffs.
