I see a State Champ run the year after next and then possibly for a couple years after that with the strength, speed, and talent coming up. JMO

Which 4 teams will beat the burg? Im not sure you know the talented players that are waiting for their turn to play at Wheelersburg! Its next man up mentality The Defense will be nasty! I will just throw out some names that will ensure the pirates won't lose 4 games! Colin Ahad, Charlie Howell, Clint Hatfield, Keaton Newsome, Lyden Collins, Eli and Gabe Whitley, Tanner Bivins, Tylor Doerr, Xander Charmical and Jeremy Cooper. These are some of the names that you haven't heard of but will play a huge role in keeping the gold football in the burg! Not to mention the obvious players that are already established! The pirates will not lose 4 games!

Sorry Then What. The gold football will not be staying with Burg. The Pirates had a very good season in 2014 and may have a good season in 2015, but the gold football will be coming back home to Lucasville for 2015. I honestly don't see Burg losing 4 games though.

With all do respect neutron2012 I dont think the gold football is going anywhere, The senior, jr and soph class has never lost to Valley all the way from Jr High to now. Why would it be any different next year? Valley's JV and freshman teams last year were very bad. I have a feeling Valley won't compete with Wheelersburg for the next 5 years. Burg is back on track with alot of talent coming but Good luck next year that will be their best chance.

Burg will be good and will compete. Everyone thought this past year there was no way they would be as good as the previous 2 years because of who they lost but they proved everyone wrong. this will be valleys last hurray. Valley will have the top couple of players in the league but depth will be an issue and they will have to stay healthy.

This will be one of the most competitive years in the SOCII. I see it as a toss up with 4 teams Valley, Minford, West, and W'burg. From what I'm hearing, Minford has made some very favorable competitive changes to their schedule. Minford will learn to compete with these teams, they will have the talent to do so, and they will be a force to be reckoned within the SOCII.

Everyone will always say the Burg will struggle. It's what they have to tell the kids to get them excited about playing ball. One thing to keep in mind is when a team is successful, everyone on the team benefits. Especially the practice squad. They practiced against the SOC champs for 13 weeks. I bet they learned something.

From what I'm hearing this is a done deal. If so, this is the direction Minford needs to go, and great job to whomever made the decision to pick up Bishop Ready and Gallia!!!

Minford 2015:
A: South Point
H: Oak Hill
A: Paint Valley
A: NorthWest
H: Col. Bishop Ready
A: West
H: Gallia Academy
H: Wheelersburg
A: Waverly
H: Valley

I can complete respect for Coach Daniels and his staff, and what they have done at Minford and that is build consistency. That schedule is stout. Even the South Point and Northwest games will not be "pushover" games. A schedule like that will only better prepare their team for the playoffs. If they win 6-8 games on that schedule, they will definitely make the playoffs.

6 wins on that schedule won't sniff the playoffs in D4.

I couldn't agree more. 4 losses with that schedule will be rough to make the playoffs

What's Valley's schedule look like for this upcoming football season? If they were to beat Burg, Valley, West, Oak Hill, Paint Valley and Ready, they could sneak in. However, if they were to beat Burg, Valley and West, they would probably go 9-1 or 10-0.

Minford would have to win no less than 8 games to get in the playoffs with that schedule. Props on the better scheduling. But NW, PV and SP are cupcakes. It is what it is.

I'm pretty sure MInford will be moving back down to D-5 this year. I agree 6-4 may be pushing it, but 7-3 or better will absolutely get you in at the D-5 level. I can live with 1 or 2 cupcakes on the schedule but not 4 or 5. This is the direction Minford needed to go, they've done it, and now they have to step it up a notch and win these games.

I look for West to be solid. They beat Valley last year and should be even better this year. Speaking of Valley. They should definitely be in the thick of it next season as long as they don't get any key players hurt. But that's it for them after next season. Several classes in a row after that with very little talent and not much athleticism. No program or coach can overcome that.

Burg and Minford both solid but not exceptional. Waverly getting new turf and a upgrade on their facility will only help. They will be improved next year and better yet the following year.

All in all the SOC 2 should be more competitive top to bottom than any year in recent memory. Lot's of close exciting games on the horizon.

A lot of people outside of Minford do not realize how depleted the Falcons were with injuries last year. Worst I've seen in a long time. Plus, a lot of players playing new or out of position because of this. Minford has everyone healthy. Hopefully, stay that way. With that being said I see Minford anywhere from 10-0 to 8-2 next year. The kids have matured and will be bigger and stronger. This could be their year to make a deep run in the tournament.

Madden should be a force for Minford next year. I look for Minford to be much improved.

Burg will again be very good as will Valley. West is an unknown at this point but I cant see them not being competitive. I think Waverly will again have an athletic team but could struggle.

It should be one of the best years in recent memory for the SOC II schools and hopefully 2-3 teams can make strong playoff runs.

Injuries are part of the game. The falcons lacked line play last year. Madden needs to step up as a leader, because the falcons have some nice skilled players.
