The problem I seen, was they just looked much slower than Valley. And I am sure they will be much slower than Burg as well. Coal Grove is huge but the lack of speed is very noticeable against a quick team. Burg should win this by 3 scores at least, but with the game at Coal Grove, its hard to tell if you know what I mean.

If the Grove plays fundamentally sound football (would be first time all season) they keep this game close. If they keep doing what they are doing then I honestly see a running clock in the second half.

Before any other Hornet fans get on here and think I am belittling the team, I am just stating facts, they have yet this season to play a complete game. If they do that then they could be in this one all the way till the end. Also, they need to let the kicker kick off, whatever happens, happens. If the Grove gives the Burg the type of field position that we gave Waverly last week, it will defiantly be a long night.

I have seen both teams play, Coal Grove is undisciplined and Burg lives off the mistakes you make (not filling a gap, keeping an assignment, etc). Talent wise Burg is significantly faster and and more athletic. If its a hurricane maybe Coal Grove keeps it close, otherwise I think Burg will handle its business and moves on to the SOC schedule.

Rain will not make a difference at all on the turf. If they were playing in a mud pit, maybe would benefit the bigger, slower team. But they are playing on a good surface.

True. But it's still difficult to throw the football in a downpour.

Regardless it will probably not make much of a difference here.

How did the game go last year?

It won't matter if they recruit help from Bill Parcell, If you don't have the talent and ability, as was stated earlier in this thread by another Grover, then it's all for not. Not saying CG has no talent, but if execution is a problem then how can you expect a team in one week to learn new plays and new blocking schemes and execute for 4 quarters. I'm sorry but IMO that means nothing. Rain????? That may hurt CG's defense in tackling. Slicker jersey's are tough to grab and from what I can gather from every other CG thread, they have a huge hole in the defense that has been neglected and exploited for 5 weeks.

Instead of THE JUGS, we are gonna hear rain makers and watch CG fans doing rain dances.
Your prolly right, CG won't see week 11 with all those losses.

Probably talked to Jackson, have the scouting reports and in the old days, have a film of the game.

When did the rain benefit the Grove? With the weather looking like it is for Friday I just hope we get this game in and not have to reschedule to Saturday.

As for this game,,,,,,
Does Coal Grove have the talent to win this game------Yes
Do they have the coaching to win this game-------------No
Can talent overtake bad coaching to lead Coal Grove to a win-------It depends on how bad these boys want it. Plain and simple this is it for this team, if they had dreams of playoffs then the talent on the field has to make up for the lack of coaching from the sidelines. Wheelersburg fans I will go ahead and give you a summary of this game before it is even played, the Pirates will run the ball very well in the first half, Coal Grove coaching will do nothing to adjust, Wheelersburg will continue to run the ball well in the second half. I dare anyone to disprove my summary because it has been the Hornets coaching staffs way of doing things the entire year.

Do I think this Coal Grove team can win, yes but the boys on the field are going to have to do it themselves because the coaching from the sideline has only hurt them, not shown the potential that this team truly has.

Why has there been a lack of coaching? I've said all this year that this team has the talent to be undefeated.

CG, you aren't rattling nothing but a rain maker. Will the rain affect both teams. Probably. One more than the other? Doubt it dude. Get us something to talk about.
