Re: Wk2 Gallia academy(0-1) vs Chesapeake(0-1)
I don't know if its true but I heard there wasn't a 7th grade team not enough kids. kinda makes you wonder how long can the program survive>

The only yhing that turned the boys off about how coach Eddy left as far as i know is. Rumors were rampant that he was leaving. he called the football players in and had a meeting and told them he was going nowhere. this was sometime just after new years. after that is when coach Eddys family situation happened. and a 2 months later coach Eddy was gone. I understand coach Eddy did nothing under handed and hid nothing from the boys. And i don't believe the rumor in December had anything to what happened 3 months later.
coach Eddy i believe handled it great but that is not necessarily how boys that were 14 to 16 years old then took it. they just think you told me 2 months ago you weren't moving and you were our coach and now your going. kids don't always think like we do.

I honestly don't see both teams combined scoring 40 points in this game. Gallia is down this year, and Chesapeake is a young squad (mostly juniors and sophomores.)
Would love to see the Panthers get the 'W' against an SEOAL opponent, but not sure that will happen.
Gallia - 15
Peake - 13

Well back to the game according to my math both teams will have a lot of work to do on offensive side of ball according to my math the 2 teams had a combined 79 offensive snaps last week and combined for a total of 163 yards. a little over 2 yards per snap.

Gallipolis had a enough for both a 7th and 8th grade game against South Point Middle School last week. Both were really outmatched in both games. So if that is your future then you are in trouble. I also know that having a soccer team hurts because it will take athletes away. Injuries are going to haunt you all as well. Heard Jarrell has an MRI this week on his injury. I bet this game will really be pretty even with Peake coming out on top with a field goal. They have one bright spot in an excellent kicker. GO OVC!

Can we find someone else to blame this on? Look this team is not very talented, it's not fast at all a guy playing qb who is prob a lb and the line is really slow plus we dont have a coach on the staff other than Cohen with a winning record. Folks not good !GalliaGrad78 wrote:I agree with kvnchambers on every point except that the boys were "turned off" by the way Coach Eddy left. If I understand it correctly he left due to family concerns, if so, why would that turn em off? I thought that Coach Eddy handled the situation with class and integrity.

It goes back to the youth program. From what I have heard it's struggling too.wemufans wrote:Gallipolis had a enough for both a 7th and 8th grade game against South Point Middle School last week. Not blaming Coach Eddy for anything. But, I do agree on your other points. (surprise! surprise!) lol.Bevo wrote:Can we find someone else to blame this on? Coaches say the biggest chance for improvement comes between game 1 and 2... The team that improves the most will probably win this game.. People need to get over coach Eddy. He was 2-8 his first year and probably should have been 0-10... His first game against Athens was a disaster, thought it was the worst prepared team I had ever seen at GAHS... Eddy had a lot of non football issues that lead to his downfall.. Just accept the fact he's gone and move on... Someone said that Eddy advanced in the playoffs further than any other coach at GAHS, that's not true.. The players and coaches are working for improvement this coming week, that's all that can be expected.. Come out and support them or stay at home....

Gallia was destroyed by Athens last year and had a decent year. Losing to what has recently been one of if not the best football program in SE Ohio is not shameful. I look for Gallia to win convincingly against a team that may struggle mightily to stay out of the cellar of the graveyard of football programs that is the OVC.

Instead of finger pointing or name calling about a game played by kids, I'll try this approach. I wish both teams good luck and hope they both stay injury free. There's a lot of football to be played and plenty of opportunity for both teams to improve as the year progresses. I'm looking forward to my first trip to Gallia Academy to watch some high school football. Is the stadium in town or out by the school?

Speed? You must have seen something I have not? Wes is out last I heard and with out our best athlete it will be hard to get the running game going. This is in no means a fast team. If were going to beat someone it's going to be by just playing smash mouth football, I'm not sure we have the line to lean on anyone this year. Hoping for a big win.noreply66 wrote:Gallipolis' speed wins this one

13 7th graders after a couple more signed up in late sign ups. I think they had 10 players 2 weeks ago.kvnchambers wrote:91blue14 wrote:I don't know if its true but I heard there wasn't a 7th grade team not enough kids. kinda makes you wonder how long can the program survive>

Please tell me which Gallia Academy team has won 2 playoff games? It may have happened 1 time when Donnie was QB.?superblue wrote:Coaches say the biggest chance for improvement comes between game 1 and 2...
