Nice that the video is available, but it is so dark that it is hard to watch much of it.

I really like the Burg in this game comfortably. I expect them in the regional final without question. Good luck Pirates!

Ferry has the potential and ability to be 'pesky' but I seriously doubt they will win this game. One possible plus that Ferry does have is speed. All members of their state qualifying 4x1 and 4x2 relay team are starters.

Martins Ferry has a great o-line. They will run off tackle until you stop them. When they do pass the ball they like to roll out. This game will be a battle. As our defense has improved we still struggle at stopping the off tackle power game which seems to be their bread and butter. Defensively MF has stud linebackers and good D-ends but they have trouble with the spread and covering the passing game. Its a classic battle of contrasting styles. This scouting report game from a college buddy I played ball with that is from Bellaire. Looks like its going to be a good game! They are calling for some rain Sat. Its the time of year for the cream to rise to the top no more bad teams in it. Lets Get it done Pirates!

Ferry has a nice team but I'm not sold on them. Burg is the only SEO team I see advancing to a Regional Final.

There's no doubt Martins Ferry will run that ball until you can prove you can stop them. That's been the Purple Riders' mantra for 30+ years under coach Bruney.

If they're not running off tackle the QB will rollout and throw it. Purple Riders have a lot of skill, decent size too.

Another thing surprising about this Ferry team is they've come-from-behind on last 4 games to win. If you don't get a big enough lead I'd worry.

I thought all season long that the league with Bellaire, Ferry, and St. Clairsville was very tough. However, after week 1 of the playoffs my opinion has changed. Bellaire and ST. C's were shutout and lost by a combined 60-0. Ferry had to pull off a miracle to beat a Westfall team that was two weeks removed from losing to Zane Trace. The same Trace team that played 8 minute quarters in the 2nd half against Hartley.

Wheelersburg should win this game by at least a score or two.

I agree with Crab here about the strength of MF's league, it doesn't seem to be as good as believed. Ferry has a strong tradition and will play hard and keep it close for a while but the Pirates will be too much. Outside of Valley's strong defense I have yet to see a team having the athletes to slow this offense down. I think my Pirates take this one 35-14.

After watching a lot of small vids and the game against Westfall, MF is having a hard time covering the pass in the spread and containing the QB if he wants to run. The key now for Burg is to see who is spying on E3 and find a way to run the ball successfully so E3 can fake and take off. I think we can against MF. On defense, Burg better begin the game wrapping up and tackling tho. Saw a lot of missed tackles against MF runners and they aren't really big, especially the QB. Speed wise, Westfall seemed to be equal or beat them all over the field, so, not looking for a MF advantage there. Burg has played O and D line against some pretty big fellas'! And they did what they had to do to win. Don't see anything changing here except for pass blocking. But I saw a wrinkle in week 10 so we may have a counter for the pass rush that has dogged us. Pirates need to step it up another notch! MF will have a prob covering our three receivers, and if they alter the D to counter, look out for our runners to have a big game.

Burg played MF a few yrs ago. We split the home and home. Great games!. Coach Bruney is a legend no doubt. He will have his team ready. But so will we. Both teams play the spread now but I think we play it better and have the better team to play it against MF. What does that mean? Nothing!! U can say this and that about it but it comes down to ur playmakers and I think we have them, they don't, in all 4 qtrs.
