Thats nice but if you think Athens and Vinton are going to be div 4 in 15 your nuts. I bet if anything athens grows. the only school I see getting smaller is NY, may be close to a 7 by then because of the bypass and business and jobs going north and south for them. More than it is now already. They wont have a senior class with over 75 or 80 for the next few years..

River Valley wont drop 2 divisions and you and wellston wont be the same size. You'll be 3 again in 15.

I am assuming that you are thinking Athens, VC and Gallia will be Div 4 in 2015. I believe all D3 now.
However, I believe ppl are jumping the gun here. Everyone has great runs in sports. This JR Class at Athens, boys and girls are amazing!
They rebuilt Athens sports. I Believe several of the TVC Ohio Schools played Athens in all sports when they were not in the league.
Now they are in Ohio and winning, so ppl are upset. Yes, they have more kids to pick from (some what). But look at the kids that are doing the damange. They all
play every sport. We can't say Barrows is all Football, have you seen him with a Basketball. This class is just very, very good. Maybe in 4 years, I don't know, maybe Athens will be saying to the league, "See we told you
it wouldn't last forever". If we want to expand the league do it to make the league better, not punish Athens for doing good. All we can do now is work harder, try to get more kids out and play our butts off to win.

Beagle, it is not too far fetched.
This Junior class is huge for Athens right now. I can't speak for VC but it seems like all the area schools are shrinking.
Athens at 297 and Vinton County at 290 are not too far from Division IV which is 280-231.

I totally agree with you on this. I have talked with some Nelsonville-York friends and they believe they will be Division VII soon.
Green Beagle wrote:River Valley wont drop 2 divisions
They don't have to. They are Division V, Region 17.

Athens and Vinton County currently are DIII, Gallia Academy is DIV.

NYF- you are spot on with your post!

Track, cross country, wrestling, golf in shear numbers Athens will always win these. As far as local kids remember even though they have been here for years, how many of those players in football and basketball would be here without Ohio U and Ohio U football needing coaches? Athens is very talented but let's face it, it the rest of the leagues fault for letting them in anyhow. They will be down again, but never down far enough to not keep winning titles in this league. I'd say they need to start selling bricks to build a new building to hold all their banners.

Yeah but when athens drops to div 6 in a couple of years because of Coolvilles expansion they will fit right in with the TVC Ohio. They are just up right now with some good classes. Once they move through Athens will ask to expand the league bring in some bigger better competition and then drop from the Ohio div and go to the Hocking. Its like deja vu all over again!! Wait let me crunch some numbers forget about a third of our student body count only a few sports and show you how this square peg fits in the round hole...

You kidding me BHI? Read the Bold to understand your underlined comment...
This would allow for natural rivals to still keep their games while offering flexibility in non-league/cross-over scheduling...this would also work well for sports other than football.

Not everyone. After the darn near ruined the seoal with let's expand then see ya, I spoke up then and have always been against it. Some of us older folks that played in the seoal in the 80's and before think that Athens winning the tv is a joke. Will never be fine with it.

You are one smart dog there Beagle,
I NEVER had any respect for them after the famous cut and run from the SEOAL.
They cried about drive times being soooo bad.
I wonder what their drive times are like in the Soccer program?.?.?
Lengthy drives don't seem to bother them soccer players, and fans.
Truth be told they kinda shy away from any real competition and like to just pick and choose the easy road.

I don't think they 'let' Athens in ... Athens was 'asked' to join the TVC.
