Speaking of 1999, I think every Falcon fan remembered the multiple phantom penalties that kept the Falcons from the upset. The big one being the phantom hold that canceled a Parkes 4th quarter TD run.

I really wish you could come to this site and read about the game, the players or even the condition of the fields and not about phantom calls, or the case of last weeks Burg/Valley thread the total domination of the past forty years. It seems to me that instead of saying " Valley has a pretty good team and their kids play hard and compete "some people would rather say" remember back in 99 or we've totally dominated you".Minford is a class program with outstanding kids and coaches, the game Friday will be a battle, it always is. I'm pretty sure that none of the kids from either side will be thinking about phantom calls from 1999.

Minford has never "lost" a game...its either been refs fault, or coaches fault. 1999 was home cooking for Valley AT Minford...

With the QB throwing 5 picks in the past two games, and 3 came within Waverly's Red Zone, Minford doesn't need to get cute and go to the spread formations and start throwing the ball. Minford just needs to stick to what they do best and run the Wing-T.

If anyone watched the Kettering Alter and Fenwick game, they both just ran the ball until it wore down the defense, and didn't abandoned their base offense when they were stopped throughout the first half. Score was 0-0 until 1:15 left in the half and ended up 21-0 Alter. Alter scored 14-points in the 4th.

Minford under coach Daniels versus Valley is 4-2 it's always a competitive game no matter what the records if Minford shows up and excutes on offense it will be another classic in this great rivialry.

^ As we witnessed last week what happens when teams get arrogant, I would be careful with that kinda thinking. Minford matches up with Valley better than they did W'burg. Also last year, W'burg beat Minford 35-7, Valley beat W'burg 9-7, and when Minford rolled into Lucasville, Minford beat Valley everywhere but on the scoreboard. Minford had their chances to win the game but fumbled going into the end zone in the 4th quarter. I think overlooking this bunch and predicting a blowout is the last thing you want to do.

I still would love to see Minford run the Wing-T in a religious manner and see what happens here. Meaning with the 3-step motion and misdirection every play. In 2000, granted it was a much different Minford team than this, but the QB of that team was not very good and he still was able to complete the waggle, and keep passes to move the offense.

I dont care if we win 3-0.

I think what Minford fans dont want to realize, is the fact that they were a BETTER team last year, of course that is IMO, which I think is a good one

Valley knows what this game means to the program, school, community. They are FULLY invested in Minford, and Minford ONLY. This is TRULY the SOC Championship game, because if Valley loses, they share with Wheelersburg.

Dont think the Indians are going to come over there and overlook the Falcons...like I said earlier, we know Minford has NEVER LOST a game, it's always been the refs, coaching, or a turnover....not a better team.

Valley will be ready to go....30-0!!!

As they were all Jrs., Minford has the same team as last year. Only lost two players off that team, Farrar and Berry both were CBs.

Farrar was also the leading receiver and Berry was also a RB. They also lost at least one lineman, not to mention a senior leader at TE (former starting QB).

The Falcons lost more than just a pair of starting CB's.

However, I still expect this game to be very physical and very competitive.

The Center: Dyer, I agree my mistake, but not sure about who the TE was. Regardless, MInford has 13-Seniors back on this team all with experience. As we saw at West, the CB positions are the ones where Berry and Farrar are missed the most.

It's my opinion, but they were better last year... :|

I feel horrible that I can't think of the young man's name right now, but he was the starting QB in 2011, also filled in for Butcher vs Valley at QB in 2010. He was also a very good basketball player, heck of a defender on the hardwood at about 6'2"........Howard?

I think Howard is the player Jesco is referring to. Piguet is also a player that saw plenty of minutes for the Falcons that isn't playing this year.

Minford could be a very tough matchup for the Indians, but I don't think there is any doubt that Valley is the more talented team. They are faster and more athletic, both in the secondary and up front. That being said, the Falcons can and I'm sure will give the Indians a tough game. I just can't help but see the issues that Minford had with Burg and West being issues again this week. Valley throws the ball well, Valley runs the ball well. Valley has shut down all running teams like Coal Grove and West. Valley has shut down the passing attack of Wheelersburg. These things don't bode well for the Falcons, especially after seeing the score of their Waverly game. If the Indians don't come out flat (no reason to think Coach Crabtree will let that happen) then I don't believe the Falcons will be able to score enough to stay with the Indians.

I'm going with Valley as 28-7 winners

Yes, Howard is correct, but I thought he went to WR not TE.... Piquet was a Soph last year and played soccer this year which really hurt Minford football. He's probably one of the fastest kids in all of So. Ohio, and that's the team speed Minford is lacking. Hope he decides to come back to the gridiron for his Sr. year.
