WEEK 6-MINFORD @ PORTSMOUTH WEST
Re: WEEK 6-MINFORD @ PORTSMOUTH WEST
I think if Minford takes care of the turnovers and penalties, West will have to be very creative to make this a close game. Coach T is a very good coach and I am sure he will have ideas on how to move the football and stop Minford's running game. Whether or not that happens, we will find out Friday night.
I am going with:
Minford 28
West 14

MInford will have Austin Carter back to start league play. As both teams are run oriented, I look for this to be a quick game. Minford can pass when needed. From what I've seen, they're the most effective with play action QB bootlegs. QB is an athlete and he can hurt teams by keeping it. Minford has many weapons that haven't been utilized thus far. When you have an O-line like they do, and can run for close to 300-yards per game, why pass?

I think Minford wins this game. Minford is not an explosive offensive team but they are physical up front. They wears on teams. I believe their last two game, the Falcons have been very strong in the 2nd half. Stay close the 1st half and wear teams down the second half. Best of luck to both squads.

I agree we haven't seen a lot of Minford's talent yet on offense. I'm sure there has been several schools there watching and preparing for the Falcons and hopefully that was the reason Minford had stayed in the traditional Minford offense. No doubt the coaches know what the Falcons have to do to get the job done and as the league play starts I bet we will see the Falcons open up as league play progresses.

West is smaller than Minford up front but they can hang with them for 4 quarters I believe. Wont be easy. West could win this match. It is high school.Good Luck West players and staff

Re: WEEK 6-MINFORD @ PORTSMOUTH WEST
Minford needs to limit the yellow flags and turnovers, sometimes they are their own worst enemy. Minford has been coming out of the gate slow of late and then wears teams out in the second half. I don't see West shutting down the run past the 2nd quarter and Minford has 2 WR that are over 6'1'' a peace and will open up the middle when west puts 9 in the box to stop the run so that will give Minford 1 on 1 coverage outside and then pass. Minford by 3 TDs
Re: WEEK 6-MINFORD @ PORTSMOUTH WEST
West needs to not turn the ball over, Minford has scored a big chunk of their points this year by scoring after their opponents turned the ball over giving Minford great field possession.
Re: WEEK 6-MINFORD @ PORTSMOUTH WEST
Minford has had a lot of fumbles and at least one interception.
West by a td. GOOD LUCK WEST

Minford has fumbled a few times mainly from the backs fighting for extra yards they have only had one interception because they don't throw the ball.

For West or Minford?

This is a good thing. Preparing for their crazy offense with no film is tough. Let some others figure it out and we'll play them laterplaya_44 wrote:Fairland moved to Northwest spot next year.

This is my upset choice for this week in the Pick-Em contest (I am so far behind I have to take some chances lol) so come on Siders, shock the Falcons.

Wonder who we'll pick up week 1? Some thought oak hill would move up. I guess we're listed on the ohsaa as needing a week 1 game.

Who know’s at this point...week 1 will be a tough fill for a game that will help down the road. I would like to see them switch around a game and get Ironton on the schedule somehow....siderman wrote:Wonder who we'll pick up week 1? Some thought oak hill would move up. Filling a slot for week one comes down to who else has openings week one. Newark catholic for example. Good Luck Friday West.
