Re: 2018 Fort Frye
Fort Frye has started a great program. 5 of 6 years going to the playoffs is very impressive. And I agree that no one in region 23 is going to win state. The only way to combat that is, and this is for any program wanting to advance, is to strengthen the schedule. 10-0 is nice, but Frontier, Federal Hocking, MC(for now), are not offering a lot of competition. I would rather go 6-4 in the regular season and be a state semi-finalist than hang PVC banners and 10-0 ,then get bounced by teams in the Columbus area in the 1st round.

The TVC has a superb playoff tradition. Sounds to me like you could get the best of both worlds by going to that conference.Going2Hanks wrote: ↑Wed Jan 24, 2018 8:47 am Fort Frye has started a great program. 5 of 6 years going to the playoffs is very impressive. LEAVE NO DOUBT, TORNADOES!

That strength of schedule thing . . . It's overplayed. Adding Philo and New Philadelphia wouldn't sprout some 6'4 Division 1 prospects up front or put some 4.4 speed in the backfield. Not saying it doesn't help with some aspects of improving, but "scheduling up" doesn't win you state titles.Going2Hanks wrote: ↑Wed Jan 24, 2018 8:47 am Fort Frye has started a great program. 5 of 6 years going to the playoffs is very impressive. Bosh. We already play the best team in The TVC and they win about 1 out of 10,Leave No Doubt wrote: ↑Wed Jan 24, 2018 11:01 amGoing2Hanks wrote: ↑Wed Jan 24, 2018 8:47 am Fort Frye has started a great program. 5 of 6 years going to the playoffs is very impressive. Completely agree. But it does set an idea of the level that a team has to get at. 10-0 with a lesser schedule sets a comfort zone. Remember Beallsville and their little RVC schedule?efarns wrote: ↑Wed Jan 24, 2018 11:19 amThat strength of schedule thing . . . It's overplayed. Re: 2018 Fort Frye
They beat 3 playoff teams during the regular season. Another team, Barnesville, had been a playoff team the year before and seems to be there often. There's always room to be a critic, but Nelsonville was Fort Frye's roadblock last year, and Fort Frye played them closer than anybody in the big and bad TVC Ohio. Maybe The 10-0 Buckeyes were the ones with the ones with the soft schedule. Who did they beat I should be impressed by?
