Interestingly enough, that's Nelsonville-York's only win against Jackson. The Ironmen are 5-1 all-time against N-Y.
They're also 37-5 against Nelsonville before the consolidation occurred.
N-Y is definitely one of the best programs in SE Ohio, and a series with Jackson could be great. As mentioned by I92, everyone would jump all over Jackson for playing a D6 school, but to me, it could be similar to the Wheelersburg series. Simply playing a great program, no matter the size.
Jackson leads all-time series 5 wins, 1 loss
1967 Jackson (A) 14-8
1968 Jackson (H) 14-6
1969 Jackson (A) 40-0
1990 Jackson (H) 21-20
1991 Jackson (A) 44-22
1994 Nelsonville-York (A) 48-7
The first three games played were the very first three years NY existed as a school after consolidation when NY was in the SEOAL in '67, '68 and '69. This was before NY had turned into a great program, but had the coaching staff in place that would create the program that we know today.
The last three games were in the early '90s when NY was already about a decade and a half into it's run as a top program in southeastern Ohio.
That 1990 game must have been exciting! A little before my time as I would have been in seventh grade that year.

You must have played on that 94 team that housed Jackson, but you didn't mention it. Note: Trimble great Kevin Meade coached that NY team. In fact he's one of two Trimble greats to take the helm for the Buckeyes who have had four coaches total, one from West-by-God, one from Nelsonville (Buchtel), and two from Gods Country, over the hill as Rusty would tell it.NYBuckeye96 wrote: Fri May 11, 2018 1:36 pmironman02 wrote: Thu May 10, 2018 1:34 pm

Teufelhunden......I mentioned the '94 game earlier on this thread. I said, "One of my favorite memories is the '94 week 10 game when undefeated NY traveled to Jackson and routed the Ironmen, who finished 8-2 on the season."

How did this get to be about Nelsonville York . I saw both teams play and 94 Bucks were loaded. 94 Ironmen we're solid but not special . I guarantee Jackson would've rolled NY the rest of the decade .

Well Jackson better get some recruits. Athens has the #2 recruiting class coming in. Right behind Wheelersburg

Athens is (2-0) vs Jackson since 2012 and hasn't lost to the Ironmen since the playoffs in 2011.

Re: Athens vs Jackson in 2019
What about, oh let's say maybe a little more representative time span....say for example 1930-2007? I mean I hate to compare 77 years to 2 years but thought I would ask for a friend. Yes, I do realize it isn't 9 out of 10 though.
Re: Athens vs Jackson in 2019
The Jackson/Athens series has been fairly even historically. Jackson leads 48-41-3 according to the Jackson Football History Record Book.
The years leading up to Athens leaving for the TVC were very lopsided in favor of the Ironmen, but pretty back and forth over time.
