2018 Oak Hill Oaks Football Outlook
Re: 2018 Oak Hill Oaks Football Outlook
Any views on final scores in the Oaks first 3 games? Chesapeake, Minford, Rock Hill.
Re: 2018 Oak Hill Oaks Football Outlook
Well this situation should add some intensity to the Jamboree game against Wellston. I mean considering how coach Phillips totally bailed on the Golden Rockets like he did. I look for the Blue and Gold to make a statement and prove a point against the Oaks.

Prove a point because of an assistant coach?hsfbfan wrote: Fri Jul 20, 2018 9:05 amWell this situation should add some intensity to the Jamboree game against Wellston. Yes! Because of the way that Phillips left and the things he said about the lack of talent and low #’s at Wellston. His second and final season at Wellston he had 35 players 9-12. Coach Lucas same school second season 59 players. It appears to me that kids at Wellston are willing to play football in the right situation and for the right coach.
Re: 2018 Oak Hill Oaks Football Outlook
Ok, not greatly familiar with the situation. As you tell it thought it sounds like he was kind of an obvious person to leave. Are the Wellston kids upset he left? I mean if they felt betrayed I could see some animosity.hsfbfan wrote: Fri Jul 20, 2018 12:19 pm Yes! Could build a nice rivalry.

The kids have moved on and are very excited about this season. I just think it adds drama. Fans are more angry than the players.

Smith and Clutters have a void to fill for the Oaks, with the Loss of Fisher at running back. The question is, can they step up and fill that void?

I’d love to see the TVC send an invite to oak hill.

Not sure OH would like that but who knows. Travel a bit better in SOC and rivalries pretty strong there.
Re: 2018 Oak Hill Oaks Football Outlook
SOC I or TVC is a no brainer, doubt it happens but it could.

I crunched the numbers..
Oak hill has an average of 39.5 minutes for conference games. In the TVC, it would be 45 minutes. Also, over 3/4 of the travel would be 4 lane. In the soc, that number is probably less than 5%. They are the same size as Wellston and have great facilities. I can’t really think of any reason against them coming to the TVC. We need an 8th member and it’s clear that the TVC is afraid to add warren based on their size. We need to even the Ohio division with another team and there are no other logical options imo.

I need to see your routes. Not buying over 75% 4 lane. I’d say closer to 60%Dundas wrote: Sun Jul 22, 2018 11:25 pmIronman92 wrote: Sun Jul 22, 2018 9:45 pm Not sure OH would like that but who knows. Travel a bit better in SOC and rivalries pretty strong there.

Just eyeballing google maps. Regardless, 75% or 60%, it’s a much higher number than their current conference. The point is that the travel time would only be slightly higher on average and the drives would be on, overall, better roads.Ironman92 wrote: Mon Jul 23, 2018 7:52 amI need to see your routes. Re: 2018 Oak Hill Oaks Football Outlook
With the predictability of the Oak Hill offense I cannot see one thousand yards per. That split between the two backs?
Re: 2018 Oak Hill Oaks Football Outlook
2 1000yd backs in same backfield is rare
Have the oaks ever had 2 1000 yd backs in same year ?

At least one, in 2012. Wes Harden and Devon Davis both rushed for over 1,000 yards on the season. Oak Hill primarily ran out of the I formation and split back when they had them. The quarterback, Haislop, also threw for at least 1,000 as well.
