South Point 28 Symnes Valley 0 3 quarters of varsity. JV did a true scrimmsge with coaches on the field probably ran 20 plays alternating offense and defense. Dont remember that score.

Anything on Ironton and West?

They didn't use the scoreboard but the 1st Teams looked pretty evenly matched. Irontons QB looks pretty good, can't run to well out of the spread but at times the spread was decent. Pass Defense is suspect as usual, don't know why we're not able to figure out how to defend a pass after all of these years. To me, we're not using a good bunch of RB's like we should, if we run the Spread all year it could be a long season. I guess if you're going to try and start using the Spread Offense it's to be expected and you have to start somewhere.

Ironton vs West

First I would say I thought they were going to at least use down markers.

I don't know about either team I think Ironton QB will be a good one I would run him more. I did not see the West team that would hit you hard every play like they were in the past. Talked to Coach s aid they had some players hurt and some had quit this week. Ironton defense needs to get much better before next week. All in all I think both teams need to improve fast before next week.

West scrimmaged Ironton last year. Ironton looked terrible last year. I thought they looked much better last night.

3 good players were out for West. They will help. West just doesn't have any great players that make 10 yard plays 60. Sometimes its hard to score when you have to grind out long drives without a great back. But the throw to run balance is good.

Not sure about comparison of scrimmage but Ironton was better last year. They have major issues outside of their QB and one or two backs.

I thought they looked big and slow last year. Seemed much more athletic to me. The quarterback is good.

I watched this game, Ironton was better on the line (both ways) West backs never had a chance to break free . West O line looked slow, but big and strong. Ironton line looked quick and athletic. Both team played good defense. West QB looked alittle off maybe because of under pressure but would run 3 yards forward then 5 yards back. Ironton QB looked good when he released the ball on time. West looked better running the ball between the tackles. Both teams should win games this year.

I stopped to grab some BBQ from smokin' joes and heard some of it while my kids played on the playground. Sounds like everyone was pretty rusty.
