Agree with you on the punt return. I did notice they put a new player in for the last couple punts. As far as the offense looks like they are getting better. You do realize they lost 3 4 year starters in the backfield with the QB, FB, and TB all graduating. And the defense has only given up 14 points in 2 games with all 14 coming in 1 qtr of play. So if the defense stays healthy and stays the course maybe the offense will catch up to them here soon.
Go Bucks Beat Minford.
The offense will be fine. First year QB so the staff has added a little more each week.
The turnovers killed us because it kept our offense off the field.
I think you will see the offense move the ball more consistently this week.
Our defense has been the biggest surprise this year. A very pleasant surprise, but a surprise.
This coaching staff knows how to make the right adjustments when needed and it shows.
GO BUCKS GO!

They just dont have the athletes to run a spread and I think they would be better with Gaines and Brisker both in the backfield. Wing T worked fine as long as they threw out of it.

I remember them going out of the wing T and running the spread against Burg a few years ago and it flopped. They finally went back to the wing t and at least gained yards.

It sounded like they had several opportunities to put the game away vs Oak Hill but couldnt. Looking at the schedule, it could be a long season season for Minford. 2-8 is realistic but 3-7 might happen after dropping the game against the Oaks. Hopefully they prove me wrong.

JMO.
Here's my take on the whole wing t vs spread deal. You mentioned "sprinkling it in". IMO that won't cut it. They have to be totally committed to it. That's what they are doing now. Athletes? They are made for the program. One has to consistently run an offense to get the athletes. You want a ground and pound? You're going to get bigger kids. They will beef up. You want run and gun? They are all over Minford. I see them every weekend. Even down to the little kids. This will work. They have to stay committed. It may take 2,3,4,5 years. But it will come around. This isn't a transition that can be made in 1 year. Look at Ironton they have struggled with the change too. And are saying the same things. Burg struggled when they switched. Instead of moping around, just jump on board and ride the crazy train for a bit. If it crashes and burns. Then you can say I told you so. Until then. Support your kids. Have fun. And let them play the game the coaches want them to. Good Luck. I hope y'all take it to NY.

Can't really compare the kids at Burg to the kids at Minford, or even Ironton the past few years. But I see your point.

I'm Minford through and through. I definitely want to see them play well. If they have 8-2 talent or 2-8 talent, so be it. It's quite the transition between the offenses though, as you pointed out in your post.

Good luck to Burg this week as well.

 most of that talent has been brought up through their per wee and JH. They teach these kids from then on. They know this offense well. Where these kids at Minford only have a short time with this offense. It will happen. I'll put money on it.

I think this will be a fairly high scoring game with NY winning by 10 points!

That trio they had last year, The BIG 3aka: THE 3 Headed Monster, was certainly a nightmare for opposing teams. But this new version, the little Big 3, have started to hit their stride lately. Will they be as good as their predecesers? Who knows, but teams will have fits much like they did with 48, 8, and 1 running over, through, and around them last year.

Lest year we relied heavily on 3 players. They were 3 of the best to walk the halls at Nelsonville-York but we have more weopens this year.
Yinger and Wilburn are a good duo in the backfield. Maiden can run and has a great arm. We have 3 solid receivers with Richards, Cook, and Wend. Throw in Seal and a couple other kids and that makes for a very solid receiving group.
Last year we relied on the run and threw when we needed to. This year we are showing a much more balenced approach.
The Oline is starting to click. As long as we don't shoot ourselves in the foot with turnovers and penalties, the offense should start putting up solid numbers.
Our defense dug down deep and showed they can make plays and I look for that to continue.

During last year there were several people asking what three headed monster....when it came to the loss of Mount there wasn't a two headed monster , so it was the one all year. Good team players and talented but no three headed.

NY won a playoff game after the injury to 1, so yea there was a 3 Headed Monster and THE 2 carried the load in that game. But go ahead and discount the other two players if you want, what ever helps you sleep at night.

I completely disagree. Edwards was a threat to run constantly and made huge plays all year. Andrews had no issues getting yards when he was called on and he was one heck of a blocker. Mount couldn't have had the season he had without Edwards and Andrews.
Without Edwards teams would only worry about stopping mount. Without Mount Hunter would get bottled up by defenses. Without Andrews neither player would have been as successful because of his blocking ability.
Call them a 3 headed monster or whatever you want but those 3 guys all needed each other to be successful.
When mount went down Wilburn was able to step in and have a huge game, but people over look what Andrews did in that game. He stepped up his running game and got it done.

And don't forget 48 was the leading rusher in the final game against Wheelersburg.

Make fun of the kid if that helps you sleep. But to answer your question, they gave it to him because he was the only one being productive. However, the previous game 8 had 210 on the ground, and 3 had 127. So you were wrong in your previous post. Per usual.
