Playoffs 2020 Northwest 21 - 20 Portsmouth
Re: 2020 Playoffs Northwest v Portsmouth
I feel the seeding for NW was skeptical at best. Good luck to both teams in the post season however.

I sense some hostility with him, could be because the Redmen haven’t beat Portsmouth but one time since they joined the OVC (2015) or maybe he’s rooting for NW because their mascots are similar..hard to tell with those guys up on the hill.

Interesting match-up for sure. I'll go with Portsmouth 33 Northwest 21.

If Portsmouth can stop the run or at lease attempt to play defense they will win. Seemed to of played well against Gallia

Portsmouth big, Northwest will not be prepared to play someone their size.

Re: 2020 Playoffs Northwest v Portsmouth
Looking forward to this one Saturday night. Will be a good indicator of whether or not a SOC I schedule hampers Northwest against bigger schools. With playoffs expanding to 12 teams/region next year, Northwest should be close to qualifying most years. Question is how prepared will they be to face other D5 teams come playoff time?*

I don't really consider this a playoff appearance. I think if teams win the first round then they can say a playoff appearance but when you have teams that have only won 1 game how can you say they made the "playoffs"?Mad-Dogg wrote: Sun Oct 04, 2020 11:30 am If I’m not mistaken this is the first ever playoff appearance by northwest

I’d like to take in this game. I’m sure I won’t have the chance but I’d like to check out Northwest’s new facility.

Portsmouth’s defense is horrible. Also their best receiver is out. If Northwest can cleanup the turnovers they can control the clock by running it. Portsmouth only wins if they complete a few big plays. Northwest 31-21

Pendleton is the best receiver and he is playing. Pendleton is the best player on the team both offense and defense and only a sophomore. I know the Dixon kid quit and heard the Bryant kid is back.PTrojan59 wrote: Tue Oct 06, 2020 11:56 amWho is this best receiver you speak of?Lutey1985 wrote: Tue Oct 06, 2020 9:28 am Portsmouth’s defense is horrible. Call the MS at 740-259-2528. I hear the Principal is a pretty cool guy and would show you around the facility.PTrojan59 wrote: Mon Oct 05, 2020 7:53 pm I’d like to take in this game. I’m sure I won’t have the chance but I’d like to check out Northwest’s new facility.
