I'm not giving up. How bout the LCL- SEOAL Divisioin? Put all the big schools in it. Logan, Jackson, Warren, Zanesville, Granville, Licking Heights, Watkins.Poo Bear wrote:Logan to the LCL
Warren to the TVC
Jackson is lone wolf
RIP Seoal , thanks for all the tradition
Re: Logan applies to the Licking County League
If the Licking County League does extend an invite, Logan would be crazy not to go. A division that consists of Logan, Zanesville, Licking Heights, Watkins Memorial, Big Walnut, and Newark would be exactly what Logan needs for their student athletes. Great competition, decent travel, and schools all around the same size. I guess we will just have to wait and see what happens. It also kind of sounds like there may actually be some interest from Marietta and Point Pleasant in rejoining the SEOAL. However, if Logan leaves the SEOAL is dead. This is going to put Warren and Jackson in a tough position. The TVC might give Warren a look in a year or two, but I'm still not sure they add them after Athens has been so dominate. Warren is better than Athens in pretty much every sport right now except football. Jackson on the other hand is going to be absolutely stuck between a rock and a hard place. They are too big for any area league except maybe the TVC, but they will never be accepted because they are too good in football.

Re: Logan applies to the Licking County League
People said Athens doing the cut-n-run would kill the SEOAL too but that didn't happen. Now that Logan is trying to cut-n-run it will be no different. Also, Athens is not "dominating" the TVC right now so running isn't always the answer. I can still see Logan staying, Marietta coming back, and Point Pleasant coming in.Vegeta wrote:If the Licking County League does extend an invite, Logan would be crazy not to go. Athens is better than Warren at Football, Volleyball, Wrestling, boys soccer, girls soccer, boys and girls cross country, boys tennis, baseball, and track. That's based on a down Athens year. Athens is not dominanting the TVC 2015-2016.Warren's best sport is boys basketball. Athens winning percentage in all sports since joining the TVC is through the roof. I'm all for the old SEOAL of Logan, Jackson, Athens, Warren, and Marietta. I still think it is the best situation for the big schools in southeastern Ohio, but if Logan goes to the LCL it's over. 80 plus years of tradition are gone.

SEOALlives = JacksonMayor = same person.SEOALlives wrote:Yes that's what it is. There was supposed to be a pact. I'm sure the LCL is scared of Jackson's football prowess though, so they probably secretly talked to Logan. If so they should be ashamed after Jackson and Warren stuck with them on the whole TVC debacle.JacksonMayor wrote:I cant beleive those dirty rotten cowards from logan are gonna duck and run just like athens did. You would think they could at least tell the LCL that we are a package deal.
Potentially good news for Logan, seems to me that the "official application" to the LCL is probably just to cross the T's and dot the I's. Can't see this being presented to the BOE given the precarious position of the SEOAL if it wasn't a done deal with the LCL. Logan would never jeopardize Jackson or Warren if talks with others were progressing in the SEOAL if the LCL hadn't said they wanted them, but maybe I am missing something.
Bad news for Warren and Jackson. Nothing funny about probably what 1,500 kids between them not having a league to compete in? No good reason for other SEO schools to help figure something out for them. No SEO school that doesn't choose to be independent should have such a hard time finding a home. Good luck to both.
Re: Logan applies to the Licking County League
Why wasn't Warren accepted into the TVC then if Athens is so much better than them? Oh right... because Warren would dominate in the all sports category "Most" years.Raider6309 wrote:Athens is better than Warren at Football, Volleyball, Wrestling, boys soccer, girls soccer, boys and girls cross country, boys tennis, baseball, and track. Hey Abe froman are you aware that hinting to the identity of a poster is against SEOPS rules and subject to banning? If you weren't so far from the truth I would report your lame assumption. Abe , if you follow these topics you'll see that many want Jackson and Warren to die a slow painful death. It makes them feel better about their programs that these schools have no home.
However both these schools will thrive . Look at jacksons football schedule . It's earily similar to the old school Ironton teams schedule . This could Take a Ironmen football to a whole new level

Re: Logan applies to the Licking County League
I am with you on the schedule, but can't believe you are giving up on the SEOAL this easily. I gave you more credit for stick-toitive-ness than that. I would rather you stay positive and keep offering possible solutions than to fall victim to the very doom and gloom attitudes you criticize in the haters. You, me and the mayor are the only ones left it seems who believe.Poo Bear wrote:Abe , if you follow these topics you'll see that many want Jackson and Warren to die a slow painful death. Re: Logan applies to the Licking County League
I'd like to see Warren or Jackson in the TVC. Probably more Jackson since they are closer to the TVC in distance
Re: Logan applies to the Licking County League
When Logan leaves , Jackson and Warren are independents unless they can add a few teams
I'm open to any team who would want to join Jackson and Warren
Even if it's just Jackson as an Independent the Seoal will live until the last team joins a league

Re: Logan applies to the Licking County League
I don't see why anyone would be mad at Logan for doing this. If an opportunity like this presented itself to Jackson or Warren, they would have taken it as well. Jackson has applied to more conferences than anyone at this point. Warren did turn down the ECOL, but the ECOL presented long road trips and was probably not a realistic option. Now that the ECOL seems to be exploding in the same manor the SEOAL did, I think the lesson to be learned here is that you can't make a "super conference" of high school teams that are hours apart from each other. It's simply not realistic and destroys the core of the conference from within.

Re: Logan applies to the Licking County League
I stand by my assertion that unless a SEO school wants to be (like Ironton at one time) independent and have no association then they should find a home.Raider6309 wrote:I'd like to see Warren or Jackson in the TVC. Probably more Jackson since they are closer to the TVC in distance
It isn't like either of these two schools hop around from one league to another every 3 years looking for a better deal. Both have been stable in the SEOAL since they arrived there or since its inception.
SEO get's criticized for being petty, country bumpkins or small-minded sometimes by urban schools, hopefully we can see the big picture here and what is best for a community and figure out a solution or solutions. Can't imagine a school in MAC country being left behind simply because they were good in basketball, soccer, football or pick a sport. Nope, MAC would want the challenge. That is why they kicked our a$$ in Week 14 lol.

Warren can't get in for one reason and one reason only, Their are still schools mad about them leaving the TVC 30 years ago.Vegeta wrote:Why wasn't Warren accepted into the TVC then if Athens is so much better than them?
