Small town rumor mill is Clark resigned at Maysville, any truth to that? I would feel that would put a wrench in ZVilles search. I would assume any guy applying for the Blue Devils would be willing to make the 8 mile trip instead and head for the Panthers. Maysville isn't a juggernaut but they're in the Small School division and have very very good facilities. Much better job than Zanesville IMO
“Bolt when things get difficult” is what Craper did. They don’t need another coach who will do that right now. Look for an actual proven coach who will put the time in and is actually capable of rebuilding the program. Not another fly by night flavor of the month type. You see where that got you.

Agreed, No one on that staff should be given the job. Just don't know if there's anything out there right now for an experienced guy.

Word out of Ceramic Ville is their job is open! That would put 3 jobs within 15 miles of each other, and another MVL.

All top flight programs:
1. Maysville
2. Crooksville
3. Zanesville
4. River View

Is how I would rank them IMO.

Any updates on ZVille? Assume things moved during break, and have some clarity after the new year.

I would move the Crooksville job to the top if they are interested in the TVC Hocking.

River View is years away from winning a varsity football game. Soccer team won a state title a couple months ago. All the athletes playing soccer in the high school and at all lower levels.

Zanesville won't win more than a game or 2 the next couple years.

Crooksville is not leaving the MVL. Tough kids playing larger schools and result likely not changing much.

Maysville is small school MVL this year and next year. Likely to bounce back and forth between divisions for several years.

None of these jobs are "a catch". The first two would be lucky to get a veteran coach looking to just coach a few more years. A young coach would never survive it.

Should be interesting.

Question, why has Zanesville fallen so far? Has the enrollment declined that much? Can’t get kids out? Kids leaving for other schools? Are they competitive in any sports?

Crooksville has struggled in football for many years. They need to get out of the league and play schools closer in size, their non league schedule proves they can compete with schools their own size. Overall, it appears they struggle in most sports. They used to compete in well in the postseason in some sports, but not even sure thats the case anymore.

Something happened at Zanesville that caused Grandstaff to leave. Quite a few of the better players middle school aged left then. Players who are now freshmen and sophomores. Some of those players are at Rosecrans. Some at MVL schools.

Also heard parents of some of the Zanesville players are...........let's say difficult to deal with.

Crooksville is a proud community and a founding member of the MVL. The last couple decades have not been kind to their sports teams, but there is still hope it will turn around some day.

If it wasn’t such a long drive for last years coach he would have turned the thing around and won a bunch of games last season at Zanesville. At least that’s what I read on here somewhere

Agreed! Would assume these would be getting closed to filled for offseason workouts, specifically Zanesville as they posted almost a month before the others. Their next school board meeting is supposed to be Thursday, the 9th so maybe it’s announced then?

Here’s my final predictions..
Zanesville - Chase Bowman
Maysville - Chad Grandstaff
Crooksville - Jason Lee
River View - I don’t have the slightest clue

Rumor around ZVille is they made a run at Grandstaff to come back. That was before break and these school closings so idk where they’d be in the process but they’re attempting to get back.

Well, it appears I missed on 2 already from what I’ve heard. Rumor is Chase Bowman has been tabbed to take over for Craig Clarke at Maysville. Maybe I had them flip flopped and Chad goes back “home” to Zanesville as many had suggested early on. Have not heard anything out of Crooksville or River View.

When would this become official, they have a Jan Board meeting yet? I haven't heard much other than here, Is he going to get an admin job? He began his coaching and teaching career at Maysville under clark if i'm not mistaken.

That would be a great hire IMO if that is indeed what he's doing.

I am also hearing Bowman will be hired at Maysville and Grandstaff is going back to Zanesville. Grandstaff burned some bridges on his way out, but things have gotten to a point they need a competent coach even if they need to "pardon" him.

Who will take River View job? I hope it's someone who cares and is competent and can handle the years of losing it will take to turn it around. More likely someone with unrealistic goals who wants to be a head coach no matter what.

Surprised this hasn’t been filled yet. This was a job posted earlier than almost every other job in this area and still no coach. It’s nearly February, so I wonder when this will get filled. Have heard no news.

Crooksville is the same boat; thought they would have had their spot filled as well.
