Re: Week 5 Minford @ Oak Hill
Congrats to Oak Hill you played a very good game tonight Hale is a pretty good runing back and Slone had a nice game as well. That was not the same minford team from last week, they played very poorly. To many penalties as well, didnt see what happen on the td called back anyone know what happen?

Re: Week 5 Minford @ Oak Hill
Congrat's to Oak Hill, they played a great game. They took what Minford gave them, and were successful. Their coaches called a great game. Their backs played a great game, #32 and #34 are very good, and very hard runners. Their QB played a good game, and didn't try to force anything, he took what we gave him, and didn't make any bad plays. But, their line, really impressed me tonight. They really stepped it up, and controlled the line. Great job, Oak Hill, and good luck the rest of the year.
Minford played very flat, I think they were still hung over from the Coal Grove game. We had way to many mistakes, and turnovers. I don't know what happened to the team that played the second half of the Coal Grove game, it looked like a totally different team. I think they thought that they could just show-up, and Oak Hill would give them the game. The drive, and the want to, wasn't there. Even in the last few minutes of the game, they were dead. I think the Coaching was there, they had us in position to make plays, we just didn't get it done.
We have to build off of this, and get better. Hopefully we can use this loss to make us better. It should show us that we are really only as good, as we want to be. Meaning, if we don't play like we want it, we won't get it. Nobody is going to give Minford anything, we have to earn it.
Good Luck to the Oaks
And, Falcons, keep your head up. You lost to a good team. Use this loss to build on!!

They called a block in the back, I think. One flag was thrown when #7 tuned the corner, the other one was thrown when he had broke it open, about 15 yards down the field. I'm not sure what it was for.

The two flags were both for the same block in the back.
Congrats Oaks and Falcons on a great game!

Congrats to Oak Hill on the win. I typed a lot to start with but thought better of it. Minford has some things to work on that were pretty evident.
It's gut check time for Minford. You can either let this loss derail your season or learn from it and move on. Senior leadership, or a lack of it, will be a major factor in what happens from this point forward. You have a good team so don't doubt yourselves. Time to start preparing for Wheelersburg. Take the sting of this loss and let it motivate you.

I will eat my crow.
Good game and congrats on the Oaks. They looked motivated and determined all night and Minford looked extremely flat. Not close to the same team that played Coal Grove last week, especially on defense.
Now I will go finish up that crow....

Well I said it and I'm a man of my word, I'll take my helping of crow now. Minford just got flat out beat tonight. We made too many mistakes. I really thought at the end of the first quarter even though oak hill was answering that Minford would be fine. As much as I would like to blame the officials, they were not the ones that kept us out of the end zone for three quarters. Oak hills line handled the Falcons on both offense and defense most of the night. Oak hill will undoubtedly cruise through the SOC I and make the playoffs, maybe even get to host now. Minford has to take what they can from this and learn, the playoff picture just got a little more fuzzy though. The leaders of this team will have to step up now, the team still has the talent to do some things if they want to, the season could be as good as 9-1 or as bad as 4-6 it all depends on what the team wants to do. This was by far the best oak hill team I've ever seen.

I felt the key to the game for the Oaks was stopping Minford on their first drive of the second half. If the Falsons had gone up two scores, it would have been hard for the Oaks to come back.

Absolutley, they had them on the ropes then and if they could've scored on that drive who knows. Oak hill was just the better team tonight, no if's and's or but's about it.

Minford is right back where we was two weeks ago, wondering who is going to step up and lead this team. Somebody has to step up and lead this team. It's got to be somebody that can step up and make the big play, when we need it. And somebody has got to step up and make the big stop on defense. Quit playing defense on our heels, and step up and put some hits on someone.

Re: Week 5 Minford @ Oak Hill
Looked to me like my Falcons came in to confident. the passing was not good. I kept trying to figure out why Minford wont throw to there open receivers. they were open all night and Minford would take a sack or throw a interception instead of throwing to the open receiver. there is no reason to go for bombs downfield when you have guys open for 10 to 15 yd gains. major factor in the game.
i am surprised minford played this bad. oak hill looked good and earned it. time to wake up minford.

Wow.. You Minford fans are classy. Sure have changed my view on y'all! Saying congrats is a very classy act. You guys played great too. Good luck on the rest of your season. I wish you the best. Go Oaks!!
And when they called that run back the flag was for block in the back then another was thrown for unsportsmanlike conduct.

im watching it also and still trying to figure out how you could call a block in the back on a down block.

What it boils down to in this game is Who wanted it more. Clearly the Oaks did. They took advantage of excellent field position all night. They derserved to win this game by the way they played and they did.
Again congrats to Oak Hill you very much earned the W tonight.

Are the plays so that Oesch can check off or are they to a specific receiver. I would bet that most teams strategy around here are for 1 receiver. Burg is much the same way imo, just by watchin them, or I could be wrong haha. Nice game though, wish I could have seen it. Does any1 know if Nextv or ZOne carried this game?

The Unsportsmanlike conduct penality was called on Minford's Head Coach for going ballistic on the Ref who called the block in the back. I was in the Oak Hill stands right in front of where it was called and it never happened. I don't blame him for having a fit b/c it took it from the game being tied with Minford attempting the x-tra point to go ahead 21-20, to making it 2 & 25 with the ball on the Minford 10 yard line.
Also, what was up with the Ref hugging Oak Hills QB after the game?

Pretty sure there are check offs, but it looks like sometimes he is locked on one receiver even though there IS other options. He missed a receiver with about 20 yards of running room, instead he threw to the deep receiver and got picked off.
