Of course that's IF the Wood gets in. Week 10 vs Newcomerstown is a rivalry game and most know anything can happen in those games.

wood4 wrote:Not much talk about Ridgewood on here. Seems quite similar to 2009 when many didn't think the Wood was a contender in the region. Wood will be a tough draw for whoever they get in this region. Ive seen Freddies 3 times this year and Centerburg once. Both teams are solid. I would rather play York, Monroe, Oak Hill Grandview Heights or Belpre then the Wood.
I have also heard Ridgewood is a solid team. Just haven't been able to gather any info beyond that. Do you happen to remember which Centerburg & Fredericktown games you caught? Just curious. Personally I'm not sure about the Freddies, their defense gives up too many points, yet thus far they have found a way to win. They rely heavily on their outstanding QB, if a team can try and limit what he does on the ground and force him to be more of a passer, I think that presents an opportunity for an upset. Idk just my 2 cents

They are who we thought they are LOL! Line up and run it at you ,stop us :122249

The Generals rolled up 326 yards on the ground with Donley going for 167 yards on 25 carries; Tingle added 101 on the ground and 96 through the air.

Not from there they have played Scioto county teams in the playoffs a few times down here. Same coach and if you read the articles in there local paper appears to be the same offence they have ran for years ,throw the ball to keep you honest

Wood is running out of a single back spread. QB is very good at ball handling. RB runs downhill and always falls forward for that extra yard. Defense is young and did not defend the pass well in it only loss, but Garaway is a very solid team and will win some playoff game(s).

Wood does have some youth on defensive side of the ball, but defending the pass against Garaway, who is ranked 4th in the state, is not an easy task for the most experienced and talented of defenses. Wood was down 28 - 20 driving to score late in the 3rd and fumbled the ball. Garaway scored off the turnover essentially putting the game away and tacked on a late score. Garaway would be the odds on favorite to win this region in my opinion.
Ridgewood has ran the Wing T for past 17 years, they made the switch to the spread this season.

Thanks Orange & Wood,

Seems like the consensus is Ridgewood will make a formidable opponent for any team in the region. Good luck to the Generals

1.fredericktown 21.7
2. grandview heights 19.9
3. nelsonville york 19.65
4. valley 19.45
5. ridgewood 16.4
6. centerburg 15.9
7. monroe central 14.6
8. bishop ready 14.41
9.belpre 14.4
10.oak hill 13.7
11.coal grove 13.55
i need to go back and check my math but it is what i project for now

I would love to see the math on that...Nelsonville isn't getting anywhere near that number unless they beat Athens....Not happening....

Ready's number with the loss today will not be anywhere near that figure.

Nothing personal, but I think you made some serious mistakes.

The best Nelsonville-York can do is a 5 seed at 7-3,they will more than likely be a 7th seed IMHO
Even a six is doable but I still think they will get the 7th seed.

I have gotten a lot of PM's and posts on here asking about what if this team wins that game or this team loses this game. I have the numbers that I am using in a google spreadsheet. It is very simple to use. I am making a copy of it that I will "share" with anyone that wants it. I just ask that you make a copy of it yourself so anyone else that I share it with won't have to try to match it back up. If you take the sheet I share with you and make a copy of it, you can change any game you choose and see how your numbers come out.

Just post your e-mail here or PM it to me if you would like to have the spreadsheet.

I know Columbus Academy plays Bexley next week, but winning tonight puts them in the conversation for a playoff spot now.

Well a few teams picked up a few needed 2nd level wins this week. Here is my prediction for the final standings.

1. Fredericktown 22.15
2. Valley 20.80
3. Grandview 19.06
4. Centerburg 15.55
5. Monroe Central 15.29
6. Nelsonville 14.90
7. Ridgewood 14.85
8. Belpre 13.56

9. Grove 13.05
10. Oak Hill 13.00

A few things...

- Barring an upset next week, the Freddies will be the number one seed.
- I think even with a loss to Minford, Valley will host.
- Grandview (with a win) will be #3 or #2 (with a Valley loss)
- I am pretty confident MC and Centerburg are going to play and I'm pretty sure the game will be in Centerburg. One wrong prediction though would change this.
- I have Ridgewood #7 and NY #6 right now, but I think this may change tomorrow afternoon. I have had Union Local beating Bellaire for 3 weeks now. If Bellaire wins, RW would jump to #6 and probably head to Columbus and take on Grandview. Nelsonville would load up and travel down to Indian county.
- Belpre fans.....You are Bexley fans. If Columbus Academy knocks them off next week....They will jump up at 5-4 and take the 8 spot. If that happens, and Union Local beats Bellaire, and Northwest beats River Valley, then CA would actually end up in the #6 spot and get a rematch from week 5 against Grandview Heights.

Crab, If Bellaire wins I think RW would jump to 5 and Mc would drop to 7 since it would be a gain in 2nd level for RW and a loss for 2nd MC.

Yep if Bellaire wins today and Tusc. Central also beats Newcomerstown later today and Ridgewood wins next week, I have them at 15.30 which would bump them up to #5 and nipping at Centerburg for the #4 spot. They could still host if they got an upset next week from Bellaire (not likely) or Waynedale. (very possible) Anyway I still see the Trojans and the Generals matching up in Week 11 if everything goes the way I think it will today.

Would a Union Local win against bellaire lock in MC at the number 5 spot?

I'm beginning to wonder if Nelsonville number is too high. After doing some numbers I'm thinking their number will be closer to Oak Hills and Belpre's. I don't see River Valley, Newark Catholic, and Berne Union winning. I don't see them as a guarantee to make it.

Don't know much about RV & BU, but NC should handle Utica without much trouble.
