Good luck West this Saturday! Can't make the trip bc of work, but I'll cheer 4 you from the West Side.

Also, I hope this is not true! I heard a rumor some kid's at West said they will blame Murphy if they lose. West has alot of talent, and should not put all the pressure on one kid. Also, I seen other West kids lose their cool in games this year, but was lucky enough not to get caught. Lets go WEST and play as a TEAM!!

I will have to take West by 2 TDs or more

If that rumor is true then that is soooo sad. I mean for once West is actually playing like a team and this accusation arises...I doubt it is true though. West doesn't need to rely on one person to bring them victory--they have tons of talent and the loss should not affect them too greatly...they are a great TEAM and will find a win like all great teams do.

I'd love to see West come out and take a couple shots downfield.....open up on em and get those D backs thinking "WTF I thought they were a running team!" ;-) :122245

I THINK WEST HAS A LEGIT SHOT AT WINNING IT ALL THIS YEAR, IF THEY KEEP IMPROVING AND PEAKING. BURG'S GOT ONE, IRONTON'S GOT A COUPLE. I'D LOVE TO SEE WEST WIN ONE.

West is a pretty good team this year. They block, tackle, execute and run hard. It's hard to disrupt sound fundamentals and that has helped them a lot as opposed to teams who rely on complex systems, size, speed, talent, etc. I'm not saying they don't have those things, but they've played bigger and faster teams and were still able to execute and come away with wins. I think they have a good shot in this game, I worry some about Ready getting to the outside with their speed, but West has done a great job of keeping in their spot and playing assignment football. This should be a heck of a game and I look for it to be within 2 td's either way.

Yes, They have changed a few things, but Coach has already watched it and has made adjustments.
I think they played very predictable in that game! Nothing Special, but #16 is pretty good! I think the QB will be taking alot of Licks from our DL and DE's. The running back was wearing #11 and look pretty good also, but The West Defense is way better than what I seen it that game!.

I seen very little of them versus W. Jefferson. I've watched about half of them @ Johnstown and I'm not impressed. I think West will physically dominate them. Johnstown got down early trying to throw the ball and got out of their gameplan. Ready rolled out of the 4-4 into a 6-2 look and they were still getting ran on, and Johnstown isn't near as good as West is up front or in the backfield. I was concerned, but I feel real good about it know. If we play our game and don't turn the ball over, we'll control the game from the outset. Their kicker is a weapon. He kicks most of the kickoff's into the endzone. Other than that, they have some speed but their very weak up front. The scheme is different, but talent wise they look alot like Minford to me.

whatever they are, those hogs upfront are gonna get some. :122245 Just a guess, but the combo of Swords and Pendelton will rush for 300 total or very close.

Just watched the Ready vs. Johnstown game on Time Warner In Demand. After watching the game I'm glad that we are not playing Johnstown. They have a very balanced attack. They got down early from mistakes that put Ready in excellent field position for a 14-0 score. They came back with a good mix of run and pass and took the lead14-17 then gave up a big play in the passing game letting the WR get behind them late in the game. Looked like Ready wore down late in the game on defense and Johnstown started to outmuscle them but to their credit they answered with a big play.

- Ready's kicker is pretty special. Putting almost all his kickoffs into the endzone. And looks to be able to kick about a 45 yard FG if needed.

- Their Defense is similar to Wheelersburg. Small and quick, running well to the sidelines. They had one good sized NG who looked to be about 6-0 270.. but he was really tired in the second half. Arms on hips, gasping for air. However, you can run right at them if you have the people. It just so happens, West is that kind of team.

- Their passing game is limited to a lot of bootleg passes that you typically see out of the wing T. But they did get one big one on a streak to win the game.

- Offensively, after Johnstown adjusted they held them to 7 points in these second half. They really, really, like to run the quick count, quick pitch on 1st and 2nd down. If they are unable to get 5 yards with that play on that situation they struggle to pick up first downs. Most of their offense is ran out of the "I" trying to be as balanced as possible. Other than the bootleg pass they like to put CB's in a bind playing a two on one with the WR and the RB swinging out of the backfield. A lot of their passing yards came from pump fakes to the WR on a GO route and then swinging it out to the running back on the same side. We will need good recognition by our LB's and good open field tackles on the RB out of the backfield.

- Overall, I didnt see any really special athletes that I expected to see. Vinny Clark's (Former OSU/NFL DB) relation spot starts for them at RB he looks to have very good wheels and athletic ability but he doesnt play a lot unless they are in a situation where they need a big play. (At least this was the case against Johnstown.) They are just a very solid football team that executes well.

City Boys vs. Country boys.

Who do you take? Who does it mean more to? Who is willing to sacrifice the most?

Only time will answer these questions. However, I always go back to Youngstown Ursuline. West had no reason to win that game. If they played 100 times it might be 98-2. Simply put, they just wanted it more, and took it. The people of the West Side just have something inside them. Call it stubbornness. West was just stubborn. That is this community's biggest asset and it's albatross all at the same time. But sometimes it lifts you to heights you never believed possible.

I'm having one of those feelings where I think West will come out with a Big Head. What I mean is the First half i'm thinking they are in for a Reality check. I just have the feeling where they are going to be like Valley/C'Burg in 05. I'm behind west and wheelersburg all the way through and I think the second half West will just tear into Ready.
Prediction:
West-35
Ready-14

Good luck Senators. Pay no mind to maddogg, we don't listen to him up here either.

I think West can win this game if they can stay focused on the game. Ready can be the kind of team that will try to get in your head. Burg has played them a few times over the years, but can't remember the record between the two. They were quick back then, with the quick lineman, much like the Burg.

Good luck West. I like both the Burg's and West chances for a rematch next week.
