Wheelersburg 45 Portsmouth 0
Re: Wheelersburg 45 Portsmouth 0
I'm a Burg fan and have been to about all the PHS games. I think that although the game wasn't close I thought Duncan has the Trojans headed in the right direction. It won't happen over night but I saw improvement in most of there game. Remember the Burg is one of the better team in he state in there division. Most teams are going to suffer the same fate as tonight. PHS will win more games this year and will be better next year. Keep backing them, the more fans follow them, the better they will perform.

Re: Wheelersburg 45 Portsmouth 0
I never thought Burg would shut out Portsmouth... I'm quite impressed. Looks like the True Tests are going to be Jackson and oddly enough... I never saw it coming..Waverly!

The weird thing is, the last time Portsmouth had a winning season (07) was also the last year that Waverly was good!Valenth wrote:I never thought Burg would shut out Portsmouth... Will this year be the opposite?
That is a weird fact.... very interesting to point out!

Re: Wheelersburg 45 Portsmouth 0
Wheelersburg played very well, Portsmouth about as bad as possible.
If the Trojans play that way against Rock Hill, it won't be close. Honestly, if they play that way the rest of the year it could be a rough end to the season. Luckily, no one else on the schedule is on Burgs level. If the Trojans played to potiential, it is possible they could win out on the schedule.

Ptown-13
Da Burg-45I'll never hide from anyone and neither will the Trojans.
BE READY TO BE HIT IN THE MOUTH
On another note, I did hit the 45 mark right. Lol
Re: Wheelersburg 45 Portsmouth 0
I don't think Portsmouth played bad... They just couldn't do anything because burg was in their face all night. Give Ptown a couple years. They will be competing!TrojanXplosion wrote:Wheelersburg played very well, Portsmouth about as bad as possible.

Lol don't listen to him man, he was running the same kid down earlier this week. Obviously a turdP(irate) wrote:Really? I don't see that at all. Dyer has a great arm. He makes good reads. All around he is better than Lowery.dontreply wrote:Must say ,in very impressed with burg they dominated.
My only question is why number 4 isn't the starting QB? He is much better then the starter and they don't give him much time at all?

Re: Wheelersburg 45 Portsmouth 0
I want to congratulate the Wheelersburg Pirates on their once again convincing win over my Trojans. I was one that didn't predict a Trojan victory, but was hoping for a competitive game by our kids. It most certainly wasn't, as the Burg scored on 6 of 6 possessions in the first half. Looked very much like the status quo that this series has developed into over the past decade.
I still think the Trojans are an improved football team compared to the last several years, committing fewer penalties and overall fewer mistakes, especially along the offensive and defensive lines (although the Burg game may not have shown it). There's still a lot of work and time that it will take to right Portsmouth football to the point where it can compete on a yearly basis with the Pirates and other consistent football powers. It can be done, and there is some good news in that the participation numbers are up this year to the mid 50's, as opposed to having barely 40 not so long ago.
At least the Trojans have the toughest opponent on their schedule out of the way. I still think a winning season is possible for Portsmouth as long as they can put this game behind them. GO TROJANS!!!
