It's fictional but based on Coldwaters program, town, and commuity. Good movie.
It has about ZERO to do with Coldwater, except there's a place called Coldwater and it's in Ohio. It was even filmed in Michigan.

If you want to know about our community, we are a fairly rural town. Until its closure in 2001, our primary industry was New Idea, a factory that made farm implements. Now, most of our population works for Honda, Crown Lift Trucks, or in any number of local manufacturers. Mercer County is always #1 or #2 in ag production in the state each year. Our population is 85-90 percent Catholic, most of whom attend the same church. (We usually are "more Catholic" than most parochial schools we play.)

Famous alumni include OSU Linebacker Ross Homan, and Bengals QB Keith Wenning.

We dress around 90 football players and have 100 members of our band, so about 35% of our student body will be directly involved in the game on Friday night. One cool thing to watch is the interaction between the band and the football team. The coaches and directors have worked to make an environment of mutual respect. Something missing in many schools.

Besides one baseball game, one other tie between Wheelersburg is one of our local attorneys, Paul Howell is from there. He was county prosecutor for awhile and his wife was a long time teacher at CW.

(BTW, for SEO pizza, you can't beat Late Night in Athens. If it's still around that is.)
I was showing guys at work the google maps of all the communities in the MAC. Amazing the size of these towns. Maria Stein, are you kidding me! Is there actually a town? Burg has played Versailles in a regional final. I think it was in 1998. Very close game. 14-7 if I remember correctly. I have a lot of family in Dayton and they all talk about the MAC and I have great respect for the teams. One question. Do any of them play soccer? Cant find anything about that sport in the Mac. Maybe one team? Wheelersburg has a very good soccer program and was wondering if that is an athelete drain that the MAC doesn't do or wont do, or the football programs are so good they just don't have anyone to play?

Yeah, it's funny, Marion Local is basically 8 tiny cross-road towns consolidated together to make a (still) small school. For the most part, no one in the MAC has boys soccer, I think our one non-football school has been trying to start a team, but, in general, no. It's interesting, in Coldwater, we have no youth football. Kids don't touch organized football until 7th grade. They all play soccer up until then, but there is basically no pressure to start boys' soccer.

On a sidenote, talking about crazy stats, Coldwater has been to the finals 6 straight years and won 3 straight titles, but in that run of 114 games, they've only won the conference twice.

getting briefly back to the pizza thingie. I was standing in line at the waverly walmart a couple years ago. it was packed like 2/3 days from Christmas. the line was very backed up. and then this lady walked right up beside me in the aisle, looked to be she was like 38 maybe. she starts looking at all these colon cleansing products that were right beside where I was standing in line. and she looks right at me I could tell she was going to say something she had a box in her hand. and she blurts out kinda loud. ''THESE COLON CLEANSING THINGS ARE SO EXPENSIVE, THIS ONE'S 38.00''.my wife is standing right beside me and you could have heard a pin drop. by this time everybody is looking right at us, and without missing a beat, I say. ''WHEN I WANT A COLON CLEANSING PRODUCT I BUY THE 18'' PARTY SPECIAL AT GIOVANNI'S''.you should have heard everybody laughing it was epic. and elderly lady was sitting on the bench and she started it, and then everybody started laughing. it was awesome.

the real question here is... do all you burg fans really want this "cinderella" burg team to stone-cold stunner a group of coldwater seniors who expect to win their 4th and final state championship, allowing them to say they successfully demolished everyone for all 4 yrs of highschool? if so, i say the fans need to bring the heat friday and get LOUD, burg fans, valley fans, heck everyone from south of columbus 'should' be there. this burg team is a load, stopping them is like trying to catch a bullet. coldwater has proven themselves... but all of you in southern ohio know what this class at wheelersburg is... real- REAL real. i may be mistaken, and very well could be, but i don't feel the playoff train stops wk14 for wheelersburg.these kids cant help their conference or schedule... but even at that, just watching them should give you chills; state champion chills.

BUT HEY WHEELERSBURG IS REALLY THE LAST THING THE SOUTH HAS GOING FOR IT. IT DON'T GET NO BIGGER THAN THIS.

Says the guy who picked DeSales over Zanesville and Bishop Watterson over Jackson.

Not to mention every team that played Athens last year over Athens (Steubenville, Tri Valley, Akron SVSM). He finally got the last game right when Athens lost in the D3 final.

Everyone at Burg should breathe a sigh of relief he didn't pick you.

So what his opinion don't matter chances are very very good burg gets crushed here they do not play the likes of versailles and marion local and minster every year and usually i hate when people say this kind of stuff but its true in this case coldwater is a powerhouse and has been for years. I mean i hope burg wins would be great to have a team from seo in the championship game what is it 3 years in a row. but with it coming down to having to go through coldwater it may not happen.Burgs best win was agaist a very good jackson team Ok coldwater played the likes of jackson 4-5 times a year

For those wishing to see highlights of every Coldwater game this year, goto www.cavfootball.com and then click on each opponent listed under their 2015 schedule. I recommend Marion Local and all the playoff games. Minster was a regional semi finalist as well. Typically on Thursday Coach will provide an update for the upcoming game and share his thoughts but with Thanksgiving week, he may do that Wed???

Coldwater Better play a perfect game and 0 turnovers to keep this game close.... I can't wait until this Burg Team is 15-0 and wins State, and many people will continue to say well the Burg did not play anyone all year..... WOW..

with all due respect and Im not trying to flame here but when I watched WB's game video highlights, your line stood out to me... but not in a good way. There were a couple good players but as a whole, I would not consider WB to be one of the better lines that CW have or will have faced. Personally, I believe that area is a mismatch as I see CW having better technique, speed, athleticism, team defense, discipline and tenacity.... Maybe I'm wrong... but as of now, I feel pretty confident in the outcome. Regardless, best wishes on a good ballgame
