I know that i was not at the game so i have no idea what actually happened.

But having said that i can think of absolutely no reason to score 71 points against any high school football team. unless of course they scored 70. But that did not happen. 71-28. That is amazing. I would like for someone to come on here and tell me what the excuse is letting a score get that out of hand. And i would feel the same way if the score was the other way around. There is no excuse to beat someone by 43 points!

trimbles j.v. team came in the 2nd qtr. and played the whole 2nd half. If trimble wanted to run up the score they would have scored 100

Oh well, I wasn't there either, but run it up all you want. You know what they say, what goes around comes around.

I don't think a team being beat by 40+ points needs an excuse or justification to run "trick" plays. I would think it's almost necessary!!! :122245

Laugh about it now. I don't care who it is or why some team does it, it's just really unnecessary.

There was nothing cheap or dirty about it, they played hard and disciplined, showed good sportsmanship and pulled out the starters just before the half. Nothing to complain about, we just simply took a beating from a better team, now its time to focus on next week and BEAT EASTERN!!!

Well said. You mentioned discipline, I think that's the key to this year's not as good as everyone thought we'd be outcome.

Since I wasn't there, it is hard to imagine that we just got a whoopin' like that, but I know Trimble's good.

what goes around comes around? The last time southern beat trimble was in the 70's and that game was called before it was over, trimble was driving to take the lead and the game was stopped. We may not live long enough for it to come around.

Trimble didn't run up the score. Trimble could have made it 100 to 0 if they wanted. They put subs in the 2nd quarter, and Southern just couldn't make any tackles, its Southern job to stop Trimble and they couldn't do it. Trimble wasn't going to come out in the 2nd half and just knee it and get out of their. They have to prepare for playoffs, their not going to just lay down and feel sorry for the Does, they have to run their offense and stay sharp.

Good Luck to Trimble in the playoffs!!!

I used to be a proponent of a more strict mercy rule in high school, but have changed my mind of recent times. Many times, scores like this one could be avoided if the coaches would allow for creative clock management by the officials or lowering the time for the quarters, which is the only true mercy rule in Ohio, but most times coaches won't agree to the lowered quarters. As Bobby Bowden told a coach whom he'd just thrashed, "It's not my place to keep the score down, it's yours." That is true and if the losing coach on the side of one of these blow-outs won't agree to the time reduction, then you cannot feel sorry for them.

What the heck does this even have to do with anything.

Koondogger what has been your record the last two years in varsity b-ball?

Just my thoughts guys

Just wanted to know what your record was against the football powers in WV? So, what was it?

Lets just say my winning percentage against them is probably about the same as your varsity b-ball winning percentage against everyone. In case you don't understand, thats not very good.

I've been in big games, and you should be run out of town. Thats the difference between us.
