Logan was bigger, but Circleville was faster, speed kills.Logan had a lot of trouble matching up with their skill players.Good news is I talked to a bus driver from Circleville and he said Circleville should be pretty good this year,he said their reserves only lost one game last year and should have won that.So maybe it was just Circleville is that good, I hope.I forgot to mention anything about the Logan offense. They were pretty much hit and miss all night, their second score came on a blown Circleville coverage where the Logan receiver was wide open down the sideline and the Quarterback threw a nice ball to make them pay.

Yep they were there alright, pretty decent crowd altogether for a scrimmage.Circleville even brought a few people.Didn't charge to get in either which is nice :aaaaa59

They got good size especially interior players and with the exception of one Circleville player (who was enormous) Logan was bigger just about everywhere else but seem to be lacking some team speed defensively IMO.I didn't notice too many missed tackles which is good, but when Circleville runners got in open field Logan defenders looked to have a tough time catching up and not getting to the spot quick enough on short passes and got burned a few times on deep routes. On one deep ball it was underthrown but the Logan DB wasn't looking back and the C-ville receiver came back and caught it,Circleville had some really quick athletic receivers.Logan needs to get more pressure on the QB to take some pressure off the DB'S.Also had trouble getting off blocks.Offensively it was good and bad,not too many penalties and pretty sure there were no turnovers although a couple times C-VILLE linebackers almost had a couple picks.Their first down distance series was really impressive driving right down the field with mostly outside running and a few passes mixed in.Seems like the QB was pressured most the night running out of the pocket. If Circleville is really that good like I heard it might not be bad at all,but I still get a queasy feeling thinking of the Gales. Also grades 10-12 looked like they were low numbers although I didn't get an actual count

If C-town is for real, that is a very good thing for the Chiefs. (A Good "early" wake up call imo) Just a scrimmage though and early mistakes will happen among other things. A more game type situation with the Generals will tell more. We will see, I got Faith in coach Burke to smooth out rough early going mistakes and such. GO CHIEFS!!!!

And they won't have to worry about the passing game against the Gales, so we will find out if all that size helps them or not.Playing against the Gales is always about the line play and who is stronger.Ever since Amyx left the series has not been competitive, so I hope they give them all they want this one last time even if they don't win.

Me too. Seems the Chiefs was never ready for them right out of the gate though. Been better to play them on into the season a bit, Newark will back me up on that, but that's just my opinion. :122245 Maybe Burke and his Chiefs will fool some people this year. Never know Bolt, but I will miss not playing them no more.

LOL That game still blows my mind.I heard the natives up there were not happy with Carp after that,he might be on the hot seat this year if they don't turn it around.

The wind will not get rid of Carpenter! Too much football history there! Unless he really screws up! As far as the scrimmage goes remember we loss a large senior class with many starters! Not concerned a lot of new talent to mold and we will be fine.

It wouldn't shock me if Logan goes under .500 this year.

Schedule is tougher, this year. Team could be better but have a worse record.

Meigs is an upgrade from Newark, N-Y improved, Portsmouth improved, and I think it's safe to say Jackson will be healthier than last year.

Only Teays, Zanesville, and Gallipolis look weaker than last year.

Plus 6 road games.

I still think 5-6 wins is definitely the reachable goal.

Some people want new blood and are getting tired of the traditional Gale offense. They don't want middle of the pack OCC finishes. Although, to be fair I think that program is in trouble if they do get rid of Carpenter. Change is not always good.

Locos and noreply that is an interesting observation and Jackson could be in a similar situation. Definitely think we have improved but we play West Jefferson, Ready, Wheelersburg, Ironton, Portsmouth, and of course Logan. One would think we are the underdogs in 3-4 of those match-ups and even money in the others. Portsmouth is clearly on the upswing and we play there, the good news is we have West Jefferson, Ready, Ironton, and Logan at home.

One would think we should compete well with Wellston, Waverly, Warren and Gallia this year, but the other six you just never know. We are in same boat a better team but could when you look at it objectively have a worse record.

Will any of the SEOAL teams have a winning record this year?

Logan should win 6 games and maybe 7 if they jell. The league looks to be better but probably a .500 record overall. Seven wins for Logan might put them in the playoffs.
