We beat Gallia, and Gallia beat Fairland, and Fairland beat PWest. Gallia almost beat Ironton at the tank. I think Rock Hill beating wheelersburg and being more physical is a real possibility.

Do you have any clue about the history between Burg-West and Burg-Waverly? Because comments like this indicate you don’t.ROCH HILL PRIDE! wrote: ↑Sat Oct 22, 2022 8:52 pmEd Gennero wrote: ↑Sat Oct 22, 2022 11:43 amIronton and Jackson definitely not intimidated anymore. They have definitely lost their mental edge. West and waverly have both both won conference titles over wheelersburg the last few years. I wish Rock Hill could've got a shot at burg this year. I think we would be to physical for them.
Burg has historically won 2 out of every 3 matchups with West. Before this last run 11 year run, Burg-West games were close to 50-50. So Burg losing once to West in 11 years is far from an indication that Burg is losing its mental edge. West was due for a win and got it.
Same stats hold for Burg-Waverly as well.
As for SOC titles, Burg has won 35 since 1972. That’s 70% of the titles over that timeframe; consider also some of those were shared. In the last nine years, Burg has won 7 SOC titles; about what would be expected based on historical results.
From 2008-2013, Burg only won 1 SOC title, so if there was ever a time to say “Burg lost it’s mental edge”, it was during those years. Of course that would have been a mistake given Burg won the SOC every year from 2014-2019.

I can't argue with it being history. It sure ain't the present.

No way Rock Hill even competes with Burg. We (Minford) dominated Rock Hill and got smoked by Burg. It would be running clock.ROCH HILL PRIDE! wrote: ↑Sat Oct 22, 2022 9:02 pm

If you call 33-14 at minford domination, I can't wait to hear what you call it when Ironton gets done with your falcons. A lot can change after the 1st game of the season.

I think Rock Hill beats minford and Wheelersburg if they play now. Minford got worse as the season went on. Atleast Wheelersburg stayed mediocre from start to finish.

One game does not make a trend, hence why predictions of Burg losing their mental edge have proven to be wrong over and over and over… again.ROCH HILL PRIDE! wrote: ↑Sat Oct 22, 2022 9:37 pmRBH23 wrote: ↑Sat Oct 22, 2022 9:16 pmDo you have any clue about the history between Burg-West and Burg-Waverly? 8 out of 10 teams Rock Hill played are in a bigger division and yet Rock Hill still competes and won enough games to make the playoffs. Half of minfords wins were against smaller schools. The Hill will get just as far or farther in the playoffs as burg or minford. I think most of the local schools have caught up to wheelersburg.

We are a lot like Kirtland and Marion Local. We play bigger schools to get ready for playoffs. 8 out of 10 were bigger than us, how many teams can say that ? We had 1 of the toughest schedules in the state in D6

Rock Hill is 4-15 all-time against Burg. Those 4 wins came in 1939, 1950, 1951 and 1954 so since 1954 Rock Hill has lost 15 straight games to Burg

We beat D4 Vinton County by the same score Nelsonville York did and beat D4 Gallia.

That is ancient history. Today's wheelersburg is average for D5 and most of Southern Ohio has caught up.yabbadabbadoo wrote: ↑Sat Oct 22, 2022 10:43 pm Rock Hill is 4-15 all-time against Burg. Those 4 wins came in 1939, 1950, 1951 and 1954 so since 1954 Rock Hill has lost 15 straight games to Burg

Half the MAC schools are D6. All of them played a much tougher schedule than RH.ROCH HILL PRIDE! wrote: ↑Sat Oct 22, 2022 10:38 pmRBH23 wrote: ↑Sat Oct 22, 2022 10:30 pmMinford beat RH 33-14, and you are on here talking smack about how 5-5 RH would now beat Minford and Burg? As for catching up to the Burg, get back to me when RH has even one state title. Hell, I’ll accept one regional title.
Maybe that’s too high of a bar: get back to me when RH is within two scores of Minford.
Re: Portsmouth West 14 - 7 Wheelersburg 2022 SOC Championship
Yes, because so many D5 schools have won state titles. Burg hasn’t won one since 2017. darn, they must be average.ROCH HILL PRIDE! wrote: ↑Sat Oct 22, 2022 11:02 pmThat is ancient history. Gotta give him credit. It’s easy to talk smack being an Ironton or even a Burg fan.
But to talk smack as a fan of 5-5 RH? That takes serious courage

Wrong! According to Martin RPI Football rankings Rock Hill had the 4th toughest schedule in the state in D6 and all Mac schools are further down the list. You are a very uninformed poster. Do your research before you post. BOOM!!! PUT THAT IN YOUR PIPE AND SMOKE IT!!!!!
