I think Jackson would give Marion Local and Minster very good games, possibly winning them. Jackson dominated Watterson, and held their own against a good Zanesville team. Versailles is no longer a powerhouse program, not since their legendary coach retired some years back, and only made the playoffs a couple times in the past 8-9 years. The mac is a good conference, but let's not make it out to be the AFC East just yet.
And im not saying that this year jackson would'nt beat minster or marion local they should their alot bigger then them. But what i am saying is year in and year out coldwater plays these teams to where burg don't it sucks for seo that the teams making the playoffs don't get to play more challenging games to have them prepared but thats how it is

Coldwater Better play a perfect game and 0 turnovers to keep this game close.... I can't wait until this Burg Team is 15-0 and wins State, and many people will continue to say well the Burg did not play anyone all year..... WOW..
Dude im not bashing burg at all and i HOPE they win i have said this over and over except when i got pissed the other night lol. But its true even in the playoffs burg has had an easier road then any final 4 team IMO i mean i hope they win but gonna be real rough

One in every crowd. I wasn't asking to be a smarta**. It was a legitimate question. What does CW bring that is going to give this pirate d fits?

Burg would beat anyone on CW schedule. We have speed to match theirs. Passing attack will probably give us issues. And Burg had more experience at state in baseball and CW beat them so that's just bs... I have watched CW on film. (Not just highlights) they are a very good team. They don't look any better or any worse than burg... this is going to be a great game forsure..

Just giving you a friendly barb, but I think biggest thing is hard to define, let's call it "intangibles.". An extra season and a half of practice in the last 4 years. That's a lot of preparation. You aren't going to do much on defense that they haven't seen in the last 58 games. They've played teams with more speed; they've played teams with bigger players; they've played teams stacked with D1 recruits, and had success. They are used to playing with a giant bullseye on their back and seeing everyone's A game. Much akin to Wheelersburg desire to knock the Cavs off, this senior class does not want to be first to not play game 15 since they were 4th graders; that's an enormous motivator.

Another thing is diversity, you have to be able to take away all their tools. Last year, we won with an extremely fast and athletic quarterback. As Brody went, so went the team. This year, instead of one person filling that role, we've grown a multi-,headed monster. If a team shuts one or two tools down, there are others to fill that gap. Watch us one night, and you'd think we are an all out run and shoot team, another night, they look like an option or smashmouth team. They just have an awful lot of weapons.

Burg is basically the same way. They are not one dimensional on offense by any means. You can't key in on any one player. They run all kinds of offensive schemes.

I think the rain is going to play a huge factor in this game especially if it rains as hard as they are predicting.

Could end up one of those low scoring games won on a last second FG.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=O1Cap8alEQw

It's fictional but based on Coldwaters program, town, and commuity. Good movie.
It has about ZERO to do with Coldwater, except there's a place called Coldwater and it's in Ohio. It was even filmed in Michigan.

If you want to know about our community, we are a fairly rural town. Until its closure in 2001, our primary industry was New Idea, a factory that made farm implements. Now, most of our population works for Honda, Crown Lift Trucks, or in any number of local manufacturers. Mercer County is always #1 or #2 in ag production in the state each year. Our population is 85-90 percent Catholic, most of whom attend the same church. (We usually are "more Catholic" than most parochial schools we play.)

Famous alumni include OSU Linebacker Ross Homan, and Bengals QB Keith Wenning.

We dress around 90 football players and have 100 members of our band, so about 35% of our student body will be directly involved in the game on Friday night. One cool thing to watch is the interaction between the band and the football team. The coaches and directors have worked to make an environment of mutual respect. Something missing in many schools.

Besides one baseball game, one other tie between Wheelersburg is one of our local attorneys, Paul Howell is from there. He was county prosecutor for awhile and his wife was a long time teacher at CW.

(BTW, for SEO pizza, you can't beat Late Night in Athens. If it's still around that is.)
I was showing guys at work the google maps of all the communities in the MAC. Amazing the size of these towns. Maria Stein, are you kidding me! Is there actually a town? Burg has played Versailles in a regional final. I think it was in 1998. Very close game. 14-7 if I remember correctly. I have a lot of family in Dayton and they all talk about the MAC and I have great respect for the teams. One question. Do any of them play soccer? Cant find anything about that sport in the Mac. Maybe one team? Wheelersburg has a very good soccer program and was wondering if that is an athelete drain that the MAC doesn't do or wont do, or the football programs are so good they just don't have anyone to play?
No, about Soccer in NW Ohio. I work several months outta the year in the BG, Hamler-Deschler(Patrick-Henry,) Napoleon, Ohio area(Financial planning for the Campell's Soup Co. Empolyee's,) and that's what I've noticed from talking to the HS football fans as a major difference here in So. Ohio from NW Ohio.

Soccer has killed our programs here in So. Ohio since the 1990's. If we didn't have 30+ skill kids going out for soccer then we'd (So. Ohio teams,) be in the finals more often.

I hope we have a good passing game this week. We will need it to open up the run. I hope our hot routes are available. And Davis can call a hot route. Or a safety valve. Woodward should make that a priority. Use our speed kids on screens or flat passes to slow down the Cavs pass rush. Don't be like the Bengals! 3rd and 3 and they send their receivers on 20yd routes! Or that matter, the Buckeyes!! LOL!!! GO BURG!!

I don't think we will pass much at all. Our line blocking is fantastic know matter what some coldwater fan thinks. We will have a hard time running zone reads but I think we will have success on power.

The Rain is gonna be a factor. But the temperature seems to be decent. Weatherbug shows it at gametime being in the 50's. Cause who can really trust any weather source?

I think some of the Coldwater fans that are saying they are not impressed with the line play, or make statements like they are pretty sure they know how this one turns out are in for a rude awakening. Some things you can't see on film that is just 170 or so back to back clips played one right after another.

You want to talk about intangibles, then be prepared for what Burg I think will bring in that regard.

Big stage is nothing new for these guys, been to plenty of Week 13's, been to Huntington Park, understand it about execution and patience and not letting the moment be bigger than it is. Pirates aren't playing the Packers here, just another very, very good team. Yes they have won a lot of Championships, but that don't mean 2015 is gifted to them.

Play your guts out and congrats from a SEO HS sports fan...go represent.

I gots no dog in this fight. I saw what I saw last week. I also checked out some Coldwater videos.

These 2 teams are same type, same caliber. I think it comes down to mistakes. If you ain't makin them, you gonna be good.

I see those CW fans on here saying all this they got that the Wheelersburg team ain't got. I'm a Wheelersburg fan after what i seen last week. Streaks are made to broken. I'm sure Wheelersburg ain't got no fear of what you say you been doing since 4th grade.

Go Wheelersburg
