Do you think its time to go back to the all white golf ball helmets like on Coate's first team and maybe all white pants with no colorTrenchfoot wrote:wonder if they will wear their white matching pants with their white away game jersey this year? always wear the purple pants with the white away jersey. someone pointed out last year that the stripe up the side dont match mixing it up like that.LHS 72 wrote:Yes but in the game of football a winning team pays attention to details!noreply66 wrote:Those shoes and socks just might be different come game time.

Re: 2012 Logan Chieftains - A look ahead
Coach Wolfe said in The Logan Daily that the last two year's teams didn't get much playing time because of the run of "generational" talent the previous years. I'll go along with that. But didn't anything rub off from those teams? The article implies there was also a huge drop-off of talent, that "cycles" happen in a place as "remote" as Hocking County per Craig Dunn of LDN-
Admittedly, Chieftain Nation has become somewhat spoiled in recent seasons... and that's to be expected when you have not just one, but two teams of a proverbial football lifetime within a decade of each other. Thus, while expectations have remained high, the Chiefs haven't had nearly as many high-caliber athletes the last two seasons to fulfill those lofty expectations. That's a simple fact.
None of them have been the caliber of, say, Joey and Johnny Conrad, Derek Harden, Patrick Angle or Mason Mays, to name just a few; good (even great) athletes come around in cycles. And, with Hocking County not exactly being in the metro suburbs, Logan is no different.
Maybe so but that doesn't explain a 1-9 record against a lot of competition that is not from the metro suburbs. This year the schedule gets easier; a winning record is not out of the question and quite frankly, Logan SHOULD have a winning record this year.
We need to quit living in the past. Dale Amyx isn't coming through west gate to coach this year and maybe he wouldn't make a lick of difference if he did. But his legacy casts a considerable shadow. It's not like the methods and standards he preached have been somehow taken from the locker room. One of the hallmarks of "old" Chieftains teams was an evident energy and desire to win. Sorry, haven't seen that lately. I'll be watching Friday night.

c-bolt, if it matches yes. coate is doing about the same thing at alder. plain black helmets. if you remember that 1st year coate coached at logan they had white game pants with duel purple stripes down the sides of the legs of their pants with a solid purple home jersey and solid white away jersey and the plain white helmets. might have been kinda of plain but they matched. those all white pants were their practice pants.

Correct me if I am wrong, but Coate's last year he had Silver Pants as I recall, also by the way after the beatdown last night the wine and cheese was fine!Trenchfoot wrote:c-bolt, if it matches yes. coate is doing about the same thing at alder. plain black helmets. if you remember that 1st year coate coached at logan they had white game pants with duel purple stripes down the sides of the legs of their pants with a solid purple home jersey and solid white away jersey and the plain white helmets. might have been kinda of plain but they matched. those all white pants were their practice pants.

That's correct they were a silver greyish color and the helmets had Chiefs wrote across them I believe,I thought they were sharp uniforms but I believe that's the only year they wore them,it was refreshing to see something different from the same old plain white pants they had been using.
