Re: South Gallia 2009
with South Gallia finally in a league who will they keep as non league games once they start league play?
Re: South Gallia 2009
It would make sense for SG to try to keep relationships with the teams in the SOC and continue playing them as nonconference games, since they both will need games.

Re: South Gallia 2009
I would think SG would keep some combination out of the following schools on its football sked: Sciotoville Community, Symmes Valley, Green, Portsmouth N.D., Oak Hill, Wahama, Buffalo. Rebels played all of those schools in 2008 and in previous years.
One of the TVC Ohio schools might even figure into the mix.

Re: South Gallia 2009
When South Gallia and Belpre both start play in the Hocking, this will make 8 teams. Thus, a 7 game conference schedule with room for only 3 non-conference games.

Re: South Gallia 2009
Not much talk lately about the Rebel program. From what I understand, the boys are hitting the weight room pretty hard, I hope it continues. Before we know it, two a days will be here and then shortly after that, the season starts. Looking forward to an above average year from SG!!!!

Let's just leave the negative comments about the individual kids out of it; for crying out loud, they're still children. They are not paid athletes and do not need that kind of scrutiny. Just let them play and we'll see what happens.
Best of luck to all the kids down at SG!!!!!

assassin, you don't think anybody is going to pay to have two weightroom supervisors, do you?

Re: South Gallia 2009
According to the April 27, 2009, Gallia Co. Local Schools Board of Education meeting minutes, Justy Burleson and Jason Peck were each being paid 1/2 salary to supervise the weight room at SGHS. During the April meeting, the BOE accepted all the supplemental resignations. Routine stuff.
The June meeting minutes have not been posted yet.
