Clifford had a long run at PHS and now it is time for change,,not just for the sake of change but for the sake of
the football program at PHS...Only time will tell us if the right decison will be made...however,,,I sure hope the Bored of

Thanks, wipala.

I am glad that somebody in this world understands the role of a head football coach.

For example, I didn't like the way our front 3 were playing one game. Therefore, I had our defensive guy walk up the OLBs and it took away the 8+ yard gains on 1st and 2nd down.

This is the role of a head coach. A head coach is in charge of everything on the field and must take responsibility for the actions of the team.

When you are in command, you command!

If it was so bad, why didnt you quit? Why be forced to do something you didnt want to, and as a result, people doubt your abilities, cause you didnt win? Seems to me, you are placing ALL the blame on someone else. Sorry, that doesnt sit well with me.

Talking about the fellow trying to be the head coach that blames the former head coach for why his team was unsuccessful defensively(and otherwise).

I am not trying to be Portsmouth's head coach. I simply know the responsibilities of a head football coach pertaining to these situations.

This post still makes no sense. Why would I quit? Didn't win what?

You wrote, I read, you wrote, I read, you wrote, I read, but I never got an answer. Let's try it another way, who called the offense?

I am as obstinate as the next person, but your question has been answered.

No it hasn't, you went off blaming everything on Clifford and that's fine I am not arguing that but someone makes the offensive and defensive calls during a game. Usually the head coach calls one of them and another coach will call the other.

...not if you have an OC and a DC who make the calls.

...then the head coach can provide input for both sides of the ball which are ultimately his responsibility...

I agree it is ultimately the head coaches responsibility but all I was asking was who made the calls. If I ask who made the calls and you say it's the heads coaches responsibility that is not answering my question.

Clifford was ultimately responsible for ALL calls made in HIS football program.
