Let’s just say hypothetically. If Seals at Huntington, Salmons at Midland or Pendleton at Ironton was at Wheelersburg instead
Of their current schools would this still be happening. I get on here and love to read how hypocritical you Wheelersburg fans are. On one occasion you talk about all the talent and athletes Ironton has and Wheelersburg can’t compete athletically (which I believe isn’t true) then the next post is none of these “GREAT” Ironton kids ever pan out in college. They are all over-hyped yadda yadda. You can’t have it both ways. 🤷‍♂️
Don’t know the other coaches, but Pendleton would be a disaster.

As for Ironton players, they have the physical traits to be successful but just not prepared to compete at the next level by their coaches. Carrico is a prime example. Kid is a stud, but a Ironton didn’t do him any favors. He would have been much better off transferring to a D1 school in Ohio or going IMG. He could have focused on just playing linebacker while competing against better competition. Would have prepared him for OSU.
Don’t you claim to live in The Natti. I would bet my last dollar you don’t even know Pendleton. Jealousy tends to come in many forms. Funny you sit and talk about a guy who has owned the program you root for. I’ve also heard from people who’s went through his program that it was the toughest thing they’ve ever done. They compare it to military boot camp . I also bet if you talk to Carrico personally. He would tell you he owes a lot of his success to Coach Pendleton.
How can I comment on Pendleton’a coaching? Because he’s laid some serious eggs.
- The 38-0 loss to Kirtland in the state title game was bad. He had the better roster yet couldn’t prevent a running clock. Was completely outcoached.

- The playoff loss to Burg. Again, he had the superior roster and it wasn’t close. Once up 14-3, he could have simply had his O take a knee and punt every possession, and still would have won that game. That was the worst coaching job I have ever witnessed at the high school level.

- The loss to SR in 2022. Again, he had the better roster but couldn’t even keep the game close.

- 2023 against Burg. Even though IHS won, Pendleton did everything possible to lose that game. It was comical how bad he messed up that last IHS possession.

So put him as coach on a team with less talent than Ironton? That would be a disaster!

yabba: heard there was a lot more to the Sanderlin transfer than just sports. As RBH said, Burg is a tight-knit community and not for everyone. Ironton is a much more transfer-friendly environment for outsiders.*
They may go 5-5 anyway. Don’t underestimate the soph, the kid can play
I’ll take any bet on 5-5. Just name it.
I’m not betting on it, it’s just not out of the question. I’m going 7-3 or 6-4

He took a 2018 Ironton team his first year to within 1 yard of upsetting the state runner ups on their home field in 1st round of playoffs. You know the same team that put a running clock on Wheelersburg 3 weeks later at Jackson in State Semis. How was that coaching job. You sir are a 🤡 and make yourself look stupid. Ironton was underdogs in each of the state championships in last 3 years. Just cause they had D1 kids you think otherwise. But remember those are the D1 kids you say aren’t any good. Those are also kids from this area that moved to Ironton and you always talk about how there’s very few D1 talent around here if any. I bet if you asked the staff they would say worst game they’ve ever called is that 2021 game vs. Wheelersburg. It wasn’t good and I’d bet those guys at Ironton would tell you that. But didn’t the QB have 5 Turnovers and the Defense held Wheelersburg to less than 100 yds. Must have been some good coaching? Imagine if they won that like they were suppose to and he would hold a 5-1 record over Woodward and the Pirates since he took over a program that was finishing 4th in OVC previously. Just face it. You hate the Ironton program and have personal hatred towards Pendleton because he’s putting pressure on the Wheelersburg program like never before.

I think 7-3 is very possible. Seem them losing to HP and Ironton. Jackson is a possible win and McNich is a probable win in my opinion.

I don’t think so. The reason they win is they outwork everyone else around here. The reason those kids look different is they lift year around why the Wheelersburg kids only work out during football season.

This is why it’s difficult to have an intelligent discussion with some of these IHS folks. They get their feelings hurt and start tossing out personal insults like we are in the third grade. Must have something to do with the education some receive.

I’ve stated that Pendleton’s best coaching years were his first nd second. Completely agree he did a terrific job.

But in the second loss to Kirtland, he and his staff got embarrassed. Sure they might have been underdogs, but no way were they 38 point underdogs with the talent that team had. They simply didn’t have anything that resembled an offensive game plan other than “give the ball to Carrico and hope for the best.”

The loss to Burg the following year was even worse. Hold a team to slightly above 100 yards of offense and lose? 🤦‍♂️. Ironton was up 14-3 after the first quarter but then decided to throw the ball all over the field instead of just pounding Burg into submission. No excuse for that lousy play calling that out the inexperienced QB into bad situations. Pendleton should have simply ground out the win. Epic fail on his part.

I don’t like or dislike Pendleton. I just happen to have eyes that can see when a coach makes mistakes. I can see when a team loses games they shouldn’t, or a team gets blown on in a game that should have been closer.

I’m not emotional about this, but apparently you are. I recommend medication or counseling to deal with your emotions, especially since this is just high school football.

Burg is not just a football school. Sure they are the last team in the area to win state, but they also compete in basketball, soccer, and baseball. Not sure Ironton fans realize these other sports exist even though they aren’t tearing it up in football either.

I heard Cunningham is headed to South Webster. Just what I’ve heard, they don’t have football though. So unless he’s done playing I’d be shocked if that’s where he’s headed.

That’s what I was hearing also but wasn’t sure or maybe it was misinformation? That he was headed to Webster. Anyways he will be a loss for Burgs backfield in my opinion. Good solid runner who got alotnof playing time. Wish him the best

That would be odd for him to go to SW. I can see him going to Green to play football seeing how his Dad played for Coach Hall back in the day.

You are infatuated with Ironton and Coach Pendleton in particular. All you do is post about them. It’s borderline weird at this point.
This is the best comment ever.

You say I’m infatuated with Ironton and Pendleton while you are the one making this comment on a thread about Wheelersburg football. That is classic!! 😂😂😂

I heard Green. Coach Hall is a great guy, and I could see kids wanting play for him.

SW would be an odd option unless he’s done with football.

I’ve been told the young man has SWHS listed on one of his social media pages. Maybe he’s just trolling, weird if so.

Green apparently the place to be. Just saw Burg AD leaving to take principal position at Green.*

Brand new school. New field. New football coach. No pressure to win. Some of these kids can't handle the pressure anymore!!!

art_vandelay wrote: Tue Jun 04, 2024 9:54 am Bluntly speaking, if anyone other than Rucker seeing regular snaps at QB for Burg this season, 5-5 is squarely on the table.

yabba: heard there was a lot more to the Sanderlin transfer than just sports. As RBH said, Burg is a tight-knit community and not for everyone. Ironton is a much more transfer-friendly environment for outsiders.*
Word is that Rucker is committed to football and ready to go for ‘24. Will be the starting QB.
