Athens had very good scrimmages against Goshen and Dayton Chaminade in a three way and dominated Morgan. Looking forward to jamboree against Trimble. I'm pretty sure the state gets the admission money and the host team gets the concession.

Athens hit hard tonight. They gave up a couple of big plays, but moved the ball consistently on offense. Ground game looked good. Dyla looked good for Trimble. Young, Weaver, Glass and Sharp looked good running the ball for the Bulldogs.

I tend to agree with this statement. The majority of people probably think with their heart and not their heads when picking champs in these various polls. In this particular case the educated and savvy football people realize that Athens was a sleeping giant when they got into the TVC Ohio and they understand that it's probably just a matter of time before Athens (Even though they already own the all sports trophy) will VERY SOON dominate in most all the major sports (football, basketball, baseball, wrestling) and then there will be the "heart" people asking, why did they let them enter the league in the first place ?. Time, money and travel constraints won't mean diddley to fans of other schools when Athens starts dominating the league standings in all sports shortly. (Non-competitive in the SEOAL but a Big fish in a little pond in the TVC).

Athens will be very competitive in all sports very soon. They are in most sports now as it stands. I do not see Athens taking over the TVC. I hope that Athens is near or at the top in every sport they have but I do not see them being the dominent team in the League. There are different schools who are near the top in different sports and they are there for a reason. ie..... VC in Basketball, Alex in Volleyball, NY in Football and wrestling. Athens coming to The TVC-Ohio will make all the schools better. I happen to think Athens will be very good this year but I don't see them winning the league (in football) just yet.

I tend to agree that Athens will compete in the major sports also, but NY has played Athens many times and I believe this last series has gone on for around 20 yrs with NY leading in the wins column. So to say that Athens will take over the TVC is a stretch tho I do think that if they have moved up to Div II they will have a hard time getting points to make the playoffs.

In order for Athens to make the playoffs there non-league schedule is going to have to get brutal!!!!!

The Bulldogs are improved, I am a father, and a fan, but we are not ready to dominate, nor do i think we are good enough to win the title outright without a little luck = but the outright champion usually is a little lucky. Our line play is very good but we have a lot of sr.'s , so line play will be a factor especially next year.

Making the playoffs probably shouldn't be a consideration at this point, just getting used to winning probably should be the focus. And with a little luck we will win enough to get used to it some.

Meigs, Nelsonville, Wellston, and Athens I think are the teams to beat. Sorry Buckeye fans, I meant Nelsonville-York. :12223
