Marietta early leader in All-Sports Trophy race
GAHSNOW wrote:Just curious, do the schools that can't field teams such as tennis, cross, soccer, etc...what are the reasons? Can't find enough interested players or is it an AD decision, or something else? I think it would benefit some of the smaller schools to have a policy that allows for kids to compete in more than one sport. I know I always feel sorry for Gallia girls having to play on the boy's soccer and tennis teams......some of those girls are really good and who knows what they could do if they had their own team.
I agree. I have seen the girl that plays on the boys tennis team and she is very good. She doesn't have a lot of confidence but from what I am told she plays #1 singles on the boys team. That is pretty impressive.
After the girls basketball

Warren should be strong in Boys and Girls track along with baseball too.
As of now it looks like Warren has the best shot in taking it, but if Logan can get the baseball team to come around they will be in the hunt.
Chillicothe is out in front now but their track teams will be too far down to keep them there.

Spring sports are coming to championship time. Who do you think will finish at the top for the AST?
Re: Marietta early leader in All-Sports Trophy race
Picking up some big points will be Gallipolis/Logan in softball, Zanesville/Jackson in baseball and Athens/Chillicothe in Tennis.
Re: Marietta early leader in All-Sports Trophy race
Logan Lady Chiefs add 10 points to Logan's total with winning the DOC over Gallipolis tonight.

Re: Marietta early leader in All-Sports Trophy race
The coin flip, or pill box, or # drawing thing really kind of make this thing a bunch of hogwash.
I have said it before and I will say it again - this Trophy should be decided by athletic performance, and performance only - the lottery has no place in it.
