Good luck to the Ironmen tonight as they host Wheelersburg. This is always a very competitve scrimmage that gives both teams a good evaluation of where they're at early on in the season. Can't wait to see the action tonight at Alumni Stadium!

GO IRONMEN!!!

Just got back from the Jackson-Wheelersburg scrimmage. The Burg definitely got the best of the Ironmen in my opinion. The two teams each started out by running a set of 10 plays. Burg moved the ball very well and scored once during the 10 play set. Jackson moved the ball somewhat, but failed to punch one in during the 10 play series. The two teams then ran 5 plays each from the 10 yard line in a goal line series. The Burg punched it in twice while Jackson's series ended inside the 1 yard line. Finally, the two teams played 2 full quarters of down and distance and ended in a 1-1 tie.

The Ironmen played progressively better as the scrimmage went on, but they just seemed to be a step slower than the Burg. The Jackson offensive line struggled with Burg's quick defensive front, which made it extremely tough to get the running game going. Jackson did have some success through the air, highlighted by a nice catch by Lukas Lindamood from Tyler Boggs for a TD.

Wheelersburg looks as though they will be extremely tough again this year. They're very quick and aggressive on the defensive side of the ball. Good luck to them the entire season!

The Ironmen have some work to do before Saturday against Wellston. They need to get healthy, step up the intensity, and start executing. I hope to see a Jackson team that's hungry for a win against Welllston next Saturday night.
