This will be an interesting game. The Tigers need to come out ready to play.

2old, playing a canadian team. I dont see how you can get that isnt playing anybody anytime anywhere.

i would guess that playing this team would benefit the tigers more than playing any of the duds in the ovc :122246

2 old aside, Ironton has really struggled the past year or so. Ironton has only won 5 out of it's last 13 games. The Tigers really need to turn things around. Hopefully it is this week. The Tigers have some big big games coming up and they need to get things tuned up. It's way too early to judge this team, but the fact remains, Ironton has struggled, by any standards (especially Ironton standards) the past couple of seasons.

This will without a doubt be a certain and fairly easy win for the Tigers.

You have too much history in your post. Post what you like to make you feel better. I clearly and always say "PARTS" of four seasons. Regardless in the last two years and so far this season Ironton is 10-11 in their last 21 games against US competition. Still a losing record. All the boasting and posting can not change that FACT.

But do not worry. You will straighten things out against the Ladies of Canada.

Why not that's what you seem to do, parts of 4 seasons? why not count the hole season? because you only want to start with the last loss of a 10-3 season. That would make them 21-13 the last 3 seasons counting the loss this year.
Get over yourself and your hatred for the Tigers, you might find out Ironton is a pretty nice place and the kids love playing football. Afterall these are high school kids playing a game and really don't need to be disrespected by someone (supposidly an adult). Sure adults get on here and brag about the teams they root for but continually disrespecting or putting down a program such as you do is getting old. Good luck to your Chieftens the rest of the season and hope they make a good run in the playoffs.

Ironton plays Chillicothe, Logan, Nelsonville, portsmouth and has already played Wheelersburg, all on the road. That's pretty stout competition. Those 5 games will dictate the season for Ironton.
Not to mention Gallipolis and Jackson on the home schedule. Someone mentioned 1999 on a previous post. I believe those 7 games will certainly dictate whether ironton will look like 1999 or 1996-97

if I remember, Ironton had a hard time making up a 10 game schedule when they was independent, I know Portsmouth did.

I think the biggest problem with money, "even with Portsmouth" we was used to having HUGE crowds on friday nights for our home games, and now they just arent coming out.

Is it true that this Canadian team has never fielded a team before this year? If true, Ironton, will have freshman playing by half time.

Like DOWG said, Getting out of the SEOAL isnt the answer. Before they were in it they was still traveling a long ways to make up ten games. I remember before joining the SEOAL leaue Ironton and Portsmouth had to play each other 2 times in one season to fill there schedules. You gotta find ways to cut down on the budget, or find ways to raise money. It prob doesnt help much that they have to travel to Logan two years in a row also. I like the SEOAL.

How about scheduling a school that will bring some fan's. Cut out all the extra's make uniforms last an extra year. Look into what Nelsonville York is doing to rebuild there feild and equip there teams. Last, the most painful way to raise funds, pay to play!

We have the Tiger Clan.We sell split the pot and sell booster cards to buisnesses,we also have a $25,000 reverse raffle that pays back approx.$16,000+.We make sure the kids don't go with out.We also give out multiple scholarships every year.
There is about 8-10 of us there on a regular basis, which I think is very sad.

8 to 10 people is sad, and yet you can do all the things you do,,imagine if more got involved what could be done.

I know Portsmouth has a mothers, mand fathers club, "parents of all the players"...they both raise some big time money.
