I thought we were the one's giving lofty expectations.

go back and look at what I said pre-season

I remember D-5. I'm right there with you. Just wanted to make a point that the no the only ones making big statements are West fans.

man seriously, do you think Rock Hill got West's best shot. I try to be positive and not downgrade other teams, but West was working on things. They could have blitzed the kid and got in his face all night like they did Meyers from Portsmouth whom is a much better athlete right know. They could have went man to man on the outside from the get go and shut them down. Alphie, whom is probably the best safety around here, didn't start the game and when he did play, RH did nothing.

I know it doesn't impress you what West did to Portsmouth considering their 1-3 record. But they are much much more talented than RH at the skill positions and West held them to basically nothing on offense because they gave them their best shot.

Coach said it Saturday on the radio that they could have ran the ball after a few series right at RH and they wouldn't have been able to stop them, and they could have. You saw it. They were working on things. If they would have made an effort to run the score up more, which they probably should have considering the attitudes RH displayed toward him last year, would you have been impressed then?

well this wouldn't be a bad shot to work on the secondary. . .peake likes to throw the ball some and run the option. . .and not stupid play. . plays that will test a simple cover 2 and make dbs work

also the peake runs a pretty sound secondary on paper usually so the siders will have to do some work to get open. .(besides play action if they are running all over our lil' team this year) which i'm sure they'll be able to do

peake is scrappy always. . .so I say they keep in within 4 scores

STEP IT UP OVC!

last year West went undefeated against the OVC and it was a good year for the OVC and West was down. Portsmouth, South Point, RocK Hill; West plays historically good teams. It's not their faught if they are down for a year. With this team it wouldn't matter up or down, they would still be 4-0.

I've watched them several times over the years. They are always well coached and fast. Wasn't too long ago (2000 maybe?) they were kicking our butts up there. Nothing but respect for them.

i'm pretty sure west and peake have only played in the preseason scrimmage before last year. . that is in recent years. . from 98 to last year or whenever this began

and in those years I remember usually doing a number on some pretty good sider teams, in 01,02,03,04, they seemed really good in the scrimmage in 02' and played right with a good peake team and even seemed to have some real explosive plays they didn't use much, (as did peake)

I think this will be a good game for both teams going into league play. . like I said peake will play smart ball, and if mistake free will keep it close till the 4th, and the siders will bring a team that is definately tougher than the ovc competition this year. . so keeping a close game will only make our panthers more confident and prepared (baring injury) to make a title run

I thought West played you up there about 2000, but maybe I'm wrong. You had a receiver that was real long lanky and fast that supposedly was going to Marshall.

West should handle the Panthers rather easily. West 28 Peake 7.

i understand that you're all pretty good but your cockiness is killing me I had to just quit reading the messages it was driving me nuts but I think the Peake will keep this one 1/2 close if they come out with their A game and show a little heart

SIDERMAN,you along with the coach that nobody wanted but west can say you could have done this or done that, but one thing that you said correct was that i did watch the game and i did see west try multiple facets of the game, but each and every one of them were intended to punish the hill.Sorry for you but the freshman was able to throw the ball all over the secondary.I'm sorry that the perfect season was exposed by a freshman.Enjoy the ride against the o.v.c teams,b/c you will be very dissapointed by the results of league play. The burg will handle this team very easy,b/c they will have at least 240 yds. passing.I'm not being a jerk just stating the obvious that everyone apparently saw but the west fans!...GOOD LUCK!

Well, I hope Burgs passing attack includes the Qb from week 5 on. kid is terrific but against GC he was throwing bricks. Can understand it though, you have bad games. West is OK. They are tough and we all kknow it! Good luck to chesy. They must run hard and the oline had better block real good. Good luck to both teams and bring back a V for the SOC!

On A Mission----Excuse me, but being a jerk suits you. Not only are you wrong on every point, but you only serve to make yourself look stupider than you already are. If you have to put a coach and team down to make a point, the only point you end of making is that you must have a personnal problem with this. :122249
Maybe some sleep or therapy would help.

Last year was a DECENT year for the OVC. Rock Hill managed to back into a playoff spot because Ironton simply could not get that elusive 7th win and several other teams choked as well. Coal Grove should have gone, but missed out because of a stupid technicality. This year has been worse than nearly anyone expected. Coal Grove in particular has more than held its own against current SOCII teams through the years and that includes:

11-5-1 v. Portsmouth West
5-2-0 v. Lucasville Valley
11-15-2 v. Wheelersburg
6-6-0 v. Waverly
1-1-0 (not sure about this one) v. Northwest.
0-3-0 v. Minford
Total: 34-32-4 v. Current SOCII teams All-Time.

This year, if South Point had the team they had in 06 with Smith and Co. they would give this year's West team a run for their money AT ABSOLUTE LEAST. I'm also inclined to believe that at least a few of the Chesapeake squads between '98 and '04 could have given this year's West team fits. So to say that it doesn't matter "up or down" isn't exactly true.....
