Week 9: Logan (8-0, 4-0) AT Jackson (5-3, 2-3)
Re: Week 9: Logan (8-0, 4-0) AT Jackson (5-3, 2-3)
LOL. How funny is it that I've said 355 all these years and Ironman92 has said 386. It turns out to be about as close to the middle of that as you can get.
You should have taken that bet, 92! This should be like The Price Is Right...you can't go over with your bid.
Glad it's even more than I thought.
Thanks for the info, Locos.

I should've took your bet and made my number 356.
384 would've been my guess for the marbles.
I'd still like to see the Journal Herald article from that game.
You know those people who are proven to be a little off but still need more proof......Hello
Glad though I was closer than 02. He was off by 17 and I was off by 14.
ON just 26 carries....WOW.

haha...You better give Randy Heath a call.
26 carries for 372 yards...14.3 yards per carry. What an effort.

I'm glad LoganLocos was able to help you with the 96 and 97 games involving Logan and Jackson.
I was still in college then and would have no idea.

Ironman02,
I want to see the ironmen play hard and leave it on the field. A team like that will have support, win or lose. Since you asked, as far as QB for the ironmen, I believe the offense runs best and is most consistant with Brown at the helm. He is very smart, dedicated, leads by example, can throw the short passes, and gives you the threat of another running back in the backfield for defenses to have to defend. With week # 9 approaching, I belive if he is our candidate to be QB next season, the coaches must give him a share of snaps with the first team squad. Should be easy to work ing with brown playing some running back role with Huff healing. The team needs to see his ability to lead the offense. The coaches still owe it to the team and seniors to put the team in the best situation to win but at this point in time he is definitely the 2nd best leader @ QB on that team.
Go Luck Ironmen!!!

Logan is so much better than everyone else in the league that it's almost unfair.

Good luck to Jackson. But, Logan is scary good. I mean, they are LOADED with talent. Almost seems unfair like someone already posted.

Not sure about the "unfair" part. Ironton had some pretty unfair good teams in the past. This is just a special group of athletes that come together no more than once a decade; maybe a generation. We'll see on that latter statement. These boys have played together since third grade. There are some special athletic talents , some "role" players and others who rise to the occasion but I have never seen a group of boys who play together as a team like these guys. Logan fans, enjoy what you are seeing; it is SPECIAL. Things will even out in the future;it always does. Good luck to these Chieftains. You have a date with destiny. Refuse to lose!

"Unfair" was just a figure of speech. Logan is really good.

Re: Week 9: Logan (8-0, 4-0) AT Jackson (5-3, 2-3)
Logan has the Potential to be good, even great this year. The big head, and not remembering what they were coached could always come back to bite them.
To see things realistically, we need to look at the competition Logan has played. For instance, what playoff bound teams have they defeated? ??? What are the records of some of the better teams they have defeated? Lancaster, P. North or a weaker Hamilton...no better than 6-4. Ironton, 3 losses (and D-4) can't really count for a D-2 playoff team. The 1st true test will come in week 10, followed by the real deal.
The Chiefs need to keep getting stronger, conditioned and better knowing responsibilities every day to be ready. The scary good teams to us are the ones at the top of Region 7.
Last, if Logan does happen to lose a game we'll be seeing Louisville or DeSales right off the bat! We don't want to play them at their place. For now, I predict Logan to be a winner, and Jackson moving the ball on the ground more than Logan is used to. Good luck to all.

Understood. This IS a really good Logan team but I am saying if you go back through the seasons and look at league championships, you'll find that teams make good runs over several years but eventually other teams field athletes that allow them to win. These things run in cycles and fans of any team that thinks it will always be this way are kidding themselves. The worm always turns.
Re: Week 9: Logan (8-0, 4-0) AT Jackson (5-3, 2-3)
I see Logan being very good, but every dog has its day and this could be the element that cause some chieftain fans a real scare. I don't believe Jackson will upset Logan, but if Logan lets them hang around until late it could get interesting. WEEK #10 could be the week the great team gets bitten. If Chilli puts the passing game first, then run to keep Logan honest, I will take Chilli. That is a week away, best of luck to the Ironmen. Like I said in an earlier post: Play with HEART on every play and you will gain respect and people will be supportive.
Go Ironmen!

Re: Week 9: Logan (8-0, 4-0) AT Jackson (5-3, 2-3)
The Jackson game has all the makings of a trap game. Will Logan be looking ahead to Chilli? Jackson will play their best game of the season with lots of spirit Friday night. Having said that, I just believe Logan has too much talent and too much to lose to let this one get away. The seniors on this Logan team have never beaten the Ironmen if you go back to JR. High and freshman games. I think they want to win in the worst way. As for week ten, I'll bet Amyx is drilling the kids so hard right now they don't have time to think about it. If the Chiefs need excess motivation to win what will basically be a winner-takes-all league game, then they are not the team we are giving them credit for. The prize is there for the taking. 2 to go!

Good Point

Hopefully Jackson will try their best, but after week 10, that Desales or Louisville could become a reality.

I think Logan will win this one but it could be close then some of you may think. Now is the Huff playing? How long has been out? Is it an injury he can recovery from? Jackson I have only seen on film it seems they play to there competion some times. They are a good well coached team so anything can happen that why the play the game. Good Luck to both schools, but I still feel logan wins by atleast 14
