No, we won't save much gas, but we will have more tha 75 fans show up. Even an unbeaten Logan team only brought about 150 fans their last trip in. Pitiful

You are right about that, Dino.
Van (WV) has an opening on 10-26. They are only a Class A school, but did make the WV playoffs in 2011. Ironton qualifies as a very small Class AA in WV, with only 5 of 40 schools with smaller enrollments at the AA level. Not sure if this is a viable matchup, however.

That wouldn't be close to a viable matchup.
It would be like watching a NFL team beat the crap out of a Jr. High
Van is the 3rd smallest public schools in WV to even have a Football team.
Enrollment numbers of 138 in 9-12.
Probably will only have about 15-20 guys on their team.
A few years ago they actually were in such short numbers that the school was going to cancel the season until a few more guys decided to play.

I hated the SEOAL - all they EVER did was insult, belittle, ridicule, and criticize IRONTON.
Got their hateful message - why should we ever seek association with them again?
I do, however, agree that there are benefits to being in a League, but let's keep it close.
Don't all schools have budget and tax problems? Why does supporting and transporting ATHLETES get precidence or "first dib"? on the available taxpayer money? Keep athletic travel costs DOWN!
I love IRONTON HIGH SCHOOL SPORTS - and REALLY apprciate the WIRO AM 1230 radio coverage and calls of all the game action provided on WIRO by Jason Philabon, and Kevin Anthonee.
I LISTEN TO MY RADIO - and attempt to provide updates and info based on these great broadcasters, and the SPONSORS who provide the money to support these radio broadcasts

I think Ironton is going to have a problem getting in any league close. If you think the SEOAL teams hated Ironton so do a lot of area teams and their administration. I don't think this has to do totally with winning football games.

No need for a league. Football scheduling is the only tough thing for Ironton. The football scheduling will get easier. We don't need a league, but would be good to have one
