SOC 3
Waverly 253
Ironton 216
Portsmouth 195
West 186
Burg 185
This would be a strong and competitive conference.

SOC 2
Northwest 228
Minford 182
Valley 178
Oak Hill 133
Symmes V. 124
This to would be very competitive, Symmes Vallley being the smallest has had no problem beating Valley for SOC 1 titles when they were both in SOC 1. Oak Hill is on the rise and and this gives Northwest a better chance. Most years I think Minford and Valley are the front runners. If one day Northwest, Minford, or Valley started to dominate they could be moved up.

SOC 1
Manchester 116
South Gallia 104
East 91
Green 81
Notre Dame 38
Most years very competitive from top to bottom. I think East ND and South Gallia battle it out most years. Manchester is an unknown being that they just started football.

I like this setup here. I think that Burg needs to get awayfrom playing Northwest and Valley. No offense to either school, but for as long as I can remember the NW game has not been competitive and here over the last 5 years, the Valley game has gotten just as bad. I would venture to guess though that the Burg would keep them on the sched just because of the local ties and the big gate that it brings in.

I myself don't have a problem with Ptown and Ironton joining and then forming a third SOC. Wouldn't have to do much to the schedule. Burg plays all of them on there now. Waverly would need to add Itown and Ptown and few others would need to be changed. I think it would be competitive and would get each one of them ready for a possible playoff run. Lot of wins between those 5 schools mentioned for the SOCIII.

I also think this would be a very competitive league, with no clearcut favorites each year.

I think restructuring the whole SOC Conference because Portsmouth wants to come in is stupid! Put them in SOC II make them play all of those teams to win the Championship.

Portsmouth just wants to split it up into 3 divisions so that they can schedule more non-league games for playoff points. Think about it! They will be playing smaller schools to win a conference championship with 3 divisions; then they can beef up non-conference games for playoff points. Kind of like wanting the cake and eat it too! Let them play the 6 conference games to win the championship. The other SOC II teams had to play the five games for all these years!

I dont think its only, Portsmouth that wants to make it 3.

what about South Gallia, Jackson, and I even heard a couple more schools?

if you ad 2 or 3 more schools, then would they all fit without adding another division?

I don't think the Trojans would worry about playoff points since Burg always carries a bunch, Waverly is D3 and the Trojans are approaching D5. With 4 non conference games we could still play Ironton, Chillicothe and Gallia Academy then pick back up a West Virginia team such as Huntington or Spring Valley for some D1 points. I thinks with this schedule 7 wins get the Trojans in maybe 6 some years if we stay in D4. The Trojans enrolment falls right in the middle of the SOC 2 enrollment figures with Waverly and Northwest being bigger. So they wouldn’t really be playing smaller schools for championships as much as they would be playing schools of similar size, with the smallest school being Valley which is only 17 boys smaller then the Trojans.

I stand corrected then! I was not aware of the other schools wanting to enter the SOC! I thought that they was being tossed in as a scenario! This would began to make sense then! Was also, not aware of Portsmouth's enrollment numbers being so low! What happened to their numbers?

When the dust settles and Ironton joins Zanesville and Athens in taking a hike, the seven team SEOAL will allow four non league football games, and eight non league basketball.

its nice to be loved

I said from the start , this would never happen.

I still would love to see Ironton, Gallia Academy, Portsmouth, Jackson and Chillicothe in a league together.
