I want to say the Valley turf went down in 2002, (I should remember, I helped install it) and I remember the guys saying you wouldnt see any signs of "wear and tear" until like 15 years...

How close to the back of the north end zone are the stones from the old Selby building? I was just wondering because I would hate to see a kid run into the wall and get hurt similar to what happened at Marshal this past year when a player from Houston ran into a cart.

On a positive I like the touches that have been put on the Gallia St. side of the locker room. Did those pillars come out of the old school? I also like the arch with the Trojan head, from the annex. I would have rather seen the money spent on Spartan, but I have to say this is turning out better then I expected.

One idea I have for it that may be kind of neat would be instead of painting murals on the old gym like they plan, how about putting up pictures of great teams in Trojan history. For example all the state champ bball teams, for football the undefeated teams of 1954, 2000, and the 1984 state semifinalist. I think it would look great to blow those up and have them all around the gym, similar to Tiger alley in Ironton.

One other thing is what is the name for this place going to be? My suggestion would be
"The Coliseum at Portsmouth".

Looks like it is going to be very nice. Maybe they can hold some playoff games locally now that someone is going to have a nice stadium.

Who will the Trojans be playing in there first home game? I would have to think it should be either Ironton, Burg or West.

When the complex was in the beginning stages of planning, I heard its name would probably have something to do with the woman who donated the money.

Of course, there could be a name for the complex, a name for the stadium and the actual football field could be named.

Last year, I wrote an e-mail to Jan Broughton (ex P.C.S. superintendent) suggesting the football field be named Grashel Field after Athletic Director Tom Grashel who passed away last year.

I suggested a plaque could be placed inside the stadium with his picture and his motto, "once a Trojan, always a Trojan" on it. Mrs. Broughton gave me a very short reply and I haven't heard anything about it since.
