Yes they have Ironman, point taken. I was just looking at this year being a down one for them so far.

Nelsonville-York has their weaknesses, its just that no team has been able to expose them because they have weaknesses where the Buckeyes have theirs. One big weakness is in the passing game. The wide receivers for Nelsonville-York are inconsistent and sometimes hit a cold spell, the exception to that is Kyle Freer, great hands! Other teams have weaknesses in their secondary and haven't been able to capitalize on jump balls Nathan Dean is throwing. He has yet to prove to me that he can place a ball and lead his receivers down the field and hit him right in stride, with the speed at those positions, he should just be throwing it out there and letting his receivers run under it and get it. Another weakness for the Buckeyes is their secondary. I am aware of the amount of interceptions they've had, and its impressive, but the quarterbacks from the other teams aren't looking off one way going another, they're staring down a receiver and allowing the defense to adjust and then heave it up like a jump ball. Not critiquing what they've done, just suggestions on what could be worked on, always room for improvement.

I know NY fans might not like it, but I have to say that I think stoleit's comments are very insightful. Friday night we had dropped passes that shouldn't have been dropped and the "jump balls" are problematic. So far, we haven't been burned by it, but I think we will pay for it against the tougher teams in the league. We are putting a lot of points on the board, but our timing seems off sometimes. Defensively, there were several times in the Logan game that their receivers were wide open but there QB just couldn't deliver the ball. Most of that can be credited to our D line putting a lot of pressure on the QB. Those young men are beasts on the field and are carrying on the NY tradition of tough defense quite well.

The ineligible freshman that was brought in at the end of the game because NY spanked Wellston and was playing all freshman by that point. Of course, we all know what really happened in that game. Win it on the field, and I'll give you credit.

Most of Wellston's wins in this series came in the beginning years. In the last 30 years, it has just been downright ugly and I predict the final score on Friday night will be the same. Bucks roll!

Since 1980, Wellston has only defeated NY four times on the field: '86, '99, '01 and '02.

Wellston has played a very good schedule this year, as has NY. Maybe this will be the Buckeyes first test??

Nelsonville-York is averaging 44 points a game, while giving up 7. The Rockets are averaging 24, and giving up 18.

Wellston better bring there "A" game if they don't the Buckeye Express may just run them over without slowing down. Wellston will play NY tough for about a quarter then NY will take over. It will be 31-8 at the half.

In the last ten years, this game has been decided by a td or less six times with two overtimes. That is not counting the forfeit. It is going to be a good game.

Get over it 96 you broke rules and just like the REAL buckeyes had to pay for it.

As for your comment of having all your freshmen in at that point of the game , we started 8 sohp that year ! So keep pounding your chest GOOF!

Orange and Brown.....It's one thing to post with an arrogance like you do most of the time.

The nickname is "Golden Rockets" not "Yellow Rockets".

But, it's another to post with an arrogance — and be unable to spell properly.

The word is "forfeit" not "forfit".

And people ask what is wrong with today's education.

As for the game, this thread is already out of hand, so I will just say good luck to both teams.
