I think that's true. I was at the first Jr. High game and they would have beaten Blennerhasset but had 2 TDs called back. They were driving the ball up and down the field, but the penalties . . . good golly!?

They seem to be "snatching defeat out of the jaws of victory" quite a bit this season. They have 40+ players and I'm sure it will shake out, but as of this moment they haven't won a game.

It's ONLY junior high. A lot of football seasons left to get better. Never can tell what you'll have in a couple of years. Just as long as they are playing. Wins and losses don't (shouldn't) count until varsity.

Case in point . . . when this year's seniors were in 8th grade they only had 16 players on the entire team and won only a single game. Marietta beat them like a red-headed step child (no offense to the red-headed kids in the crowd). They stuck together and worked like crazy and now they are having some success. The average bystander might not have predicted a 4-0 start this season based on the team's success in Jr. High.

My class at LHS won only 2 games in junior high. As seniors they went 10-0, won an SEOAL championship, and played Dublin Coffman (w/ Brady Quinn and Ndukwe to the last minute, losing 20-14).

Junior High is about teaching fundamentals, discipline, and teaching kids expectations.

i think Warren will be able to handle PPs running game in about the same fashion they handled Mariettas...the d line for the warriors is very strong and fast and have done a great job this year stopping the running game...if PP tries to throw early it might get ugly...the secondary has a lot of ints already and if the sophomore throws one early it could be a long game for the big blacks...i look to see warren continue passing the ball more and more after having success through the air agiainst marrietta...who wouldn't throw with recievers like yocum, vincent, and venham...they can catch about anything...i definitly agree that the special teams needs to pick it up a notch...i think they must have been trying out the popcorn at the concession stand before the game last week...i think Warren will come out and win by at least 14 and take their girls to the tractor pulls afterwards...

I agree I think Warren has already seen a better running game and offensive line in Parkersburg South and Marietta than what Point Pleasant will likely bring to Vincent saturday. Also after seeing Warren shut down Wheeler last week, Point Pleasnt will find open running lanes very sparse. Passing the ball has caused major problems for young/inexperienced quarterbacks this year so far against Warren. Warren's best athletes are in the backfield and it shows. Can anyone confirm the secondary already has 11 interceptions??

i must admit it would be interesting to see wasonga against this warrior d, but since he is at p-burg now.....oh well. i agree it will be difficult for pp to establish a consistent running game. i heard the greathouse boy is out with an injury? sorry to hear that if true. good luck this week and beyond. keep aiming high while staying grounded. whs 35 - pp 18

Last heard that Greathouse should be back this week. Also Rohr, Ryan and Church are available so that will help as well.
Loganlocos must agree waaaaaay toooooo muchhhhhh emphasis put on being a winner at lower levels. While nobody plays to lose the important thing is to learn the basics. Some times people lose sight of this. This years team is a prime example of hard work, dedication and desire. They had miserable years at the lower level. But the nucleas hung together and has got themselves something to be proud of. They still have to take each game as the most important of the year, stay focused, stay humble and they will have themselves something to hold their heads high for. Play Hard, Play Safe, Play Fair. Everything will work out in the end.

I can tell you about the Junior High as my boy is on the team, we are in a transisition period with boys that played in the youth league that ran some plays that the high school does and we have a few that have not played at all until now. This is getting them developed to play at the next level and yes we have not won a game yet but we did finally put points on the board against a tough Jackson JH team.
These boys have a lot of heart and yes they are a bit down because of the scoring and the record they have Loganlocos hit it right as to much is put on the boys to do everything they can to win but it should be noted they are being groomed for high school and things will start to come around , look at this years varsity most of them went through this exact same thing, it's all just a matter of time folks just let them work and develope.

BigBlueDad; You are spot on. More parents need to have this outlook. Groom them for playing varsity football. Learn, develop and have some fun. Win or lose take something away from each game that is positive. Good luck to them. Keep the faith.

The Big Blacks venture into a very wet Warrior Field tonight at 7:30

Hopefully the fairgrounds will empty out for a few hours....it's going to be raining at both places, so might as well get wet while watching the Warriors move to 5-0 on the season.

I feel like it's important to mention this, but the Warriors have not finished a season with a break-even record or better since 1999, when they were 6-4 in Coach Mike DeVol's final winning season. A win tonight will give the Warriors 5 wins. It's a big deal.

Plus, it's hall of fame night in Vincent!

Go Blue!

This should be a good game, despite the rain. I believe it will be won in the trenches with RUN RUN RUN. Passing will be limited to need a score bad or 4th and forever to win. I'm going with Warren in a close one. With the weather and the caliber of talent on both sides of the ball, I can't predict the score. So, GO WARREN!!!! MAKE IT 5-0.
